Emma tip toes down the hall, 'God, living with my parents sucks,' thought Emma. Suddenly the living room lights turn on and Emma can see Mary-Margaret sitting in one of the arm chairs; her arms folded and her bunny-slipper foot tapping the floor irritably.
"Where were you? Your father and I have been worried sick, bed empty! No note! Cora and Hook god knows where and you disappear!" shouts Mary-Margaret impersonating Molly Weasly to a T.
"For god's sake, I was out. On a date, which is what grown women do," replies Emma angrily. Mary-Margaret huffs angrily;
"Well you could have told us, we'd love to meet him then if he's captured your heart so much that you sneak out in the middle of the night to visit him…" reprimands Mary-Margaret, " Is it Neal? Have you two got back together" she asks excitedly.
"No, I was out with… with another woman, one that I know you won't approve of, which I why I didn't tell you," Emma admits.
Mary-Margaret smiles, "Emma, don't think that your father and I won't approve because you're dating a woman, we could never disapprove. Where we come from Love is cherished in whatever form it comes in. Age, Race and Gender don't matter as long as the love is pure," says Mary-Margaret.
"I'm dating Regina," says Emma.
"WHAT?! How could You?! After everything she's done to this family! To…To everyone" shouts Mary-Margaret,
"See, I told you you wouldn't approve," mutters Emma.
"Emma, really, her?" asks Snow, "Is it just angry hate sex? That I can understand," says Mary-Margaret,
"It's not hate sex," says Emma, 'Though it's still phenomenal,' Emma adds mentally.
"Then why? I want to understand, I do?" says the brunette.
"You told me that even the hope of true love is a powerful thing. Everything Regina's done, the revenge on you, trying to kill her own mother, the curse; that's because she lost that hope, partly because of you," says Emma.
"I didn't-" Mary-Margaret starts to say but Emma cuts her off,
"You may not have meant it, you may not have been fully aware of the repercussions of your actions and yes you may not have known better but your actions did lead to the death of an innocent man. Your actions crushed the only hope Regina had for love. I'm giving Regina fresh hope; we are both giving each other a second chance at finding love and a happy ending. So please, don't crush Regina's hope a second time," begs Emma. Mary-Margaret looks at her daughter for what feels like hours but finally she nods, "I hope you know what you're doing Emma. I know Regina and-" Once Again Emma cuts her off.
"No, you know the Evil Queen, I know Regina, and they aren't the same, not any more. Everyone says I'm the saviour, so right now I'm saving the person who needs saving most, with the most powerful force around, love. Regina and I are broken, we are both exactly what we both need right now, someone who understands. I'm not saying that Regina and I are in love, we may not work out, we might find other people, but we're both opening ourselves to the possibility that love could develop. We may not be each other's true loves, but we're trying. And that has to count for something," says Emma. Mary-Margaret smiles sadly at her daughter,
"Ok, I understand now. I hope you two do find love, whether it is with each other or with someone else. But if she comes over for family dinners, she cannot bring any apples," Mary-Margaret half-jokes/half serious. Emma chuckles;
"Good luck with that, I think she's got a fetish for them," jokes Emma, Mary-Margaret laughs along before heading to bed leaving Emma alone in the living room with her thoughts, and her hope that she and Regina really will find love.
