Author's note: This is my first fanfic so be kind.

Diclaimer: I don't own 'flashing lights' or 'The devil wears prada' unfortunately..........

Flashing lights, lights
Flashing lights, lights
Flashing lights, lights
Flashing lights, lights

I still remember is looking back and seeing you being engulfed by their flashes. The paparazzi always captured your every movement. Like always your expression was hid by your sunglasses-designer, of course.

She don't believe in shootin' stars,
but she believe in shoes & cars

My time in Paris is still engraved in my mind. I remember watching as even the most respected designers bowed at your feet. You struck fear into everyone who crossed your path. You made sure that they all knew that one bad word from you and their career would be no more. Your opinion was the only one that mattered to them. I am still in awe of the power you garnered over the years but I know how you are where you are and I'll never do what you did.

As I recall, I know you love to show off
But I never thought that you would take it this far
what do I know? Flashing lights, lights
what do I know? Flashing lights, lights

I couldn't believe it when you said I was like you. It was then I realised how much you loved the power you have over people. You love their jealousy-if only they knew the truth-the real you…….

First class with the seat back I still see ya
In my past, you on the other side of the glass
Of my memory's museum,

You are the woman who has sacrificed so much for so little. I don't know how you could do it. I'll never forget the image of you crying on your own in your hotel suite-you looked so broken that night. It was only time you dared let your guard down and show your real emotions, your fear, your loneliness, your regret and your sadness. It is that memory of you which keeps me from making those extreme sacrifices. I suppose that's one thing I have to thank you for-I won't ever subject myself to the pain you have.

I'm just saying, Hey Mona Lisa,
come home you know you can't Rome without Caesar

I wish you realised how much I did for you. I worked so hard to please you-to achieve every impossibly high target you set me and still you couldn't utter those simple words that would have meant everything to me-'Thank You'!

You never appreciated anything I did for you, you were never grateful, you treated worse than any of your other employees yet I'm still haunted by how I left you………………………………….
