Tris' POV

I'm hanging out at Christina's when I realize we have no more food. Well we have food but none that either one of us want to eat.

So we decide to make a quick trip down to the local grocery store. Christina decides that she needs to get dressed up for such an event. While I am wearing a shirt advertising my college, sport shorts, and my hair in a messy bun.

As we get out of the car Christina and I are talking about our favorite movie, Crazy, Stupid, Love. We walk in and get more chips, soda, and candy. Basically everything a girl needs for a sleepover.

We then head over to the checkout line and have now transitioned over to our favorite show, Finding Carter.

I place the items down on the counter and turn to her saying,

"You have to admit Carter is kind of annoying."

We had both absentmindedly made our way to the front of the line.

"Well with everything that she has been through can you really blame her?"

"If I may," says the cashier, "Carter has always acted that way. I mean the only reason she found out Lori was the kidnapper is because she landed herself in jail."

It is only now that I see what he looks like. He has a spare upper lip and a full lower one, short brown hair, and mesmerizing dark blue eyes.

It takes me a moment to collect myself.

"Yeah, " I pause to look at his name tag, "Tobias is right."

I then turn to him asking, "You watch Finding Carter?"

I expect him to answer that his girlfriend makes him watch it but instead he says,

"Yeah my sister and I love it."

I nod in agreement while pulling out my wallet.

I look at the total and swipe my card then enter my pin.

"So you go to Chicago University?" he asks.

At first I am confused as to how he knows this then I remember my shirt.

"Yeah I'm a freshman," I say slightly timid. I have never been good with meeting new people.

"Cool I'm a sophomore what's you're major?" He asks while writing something down on the receipt before handing it to me.

I place it in my purse before answering, "Biology."

"Oh have you had Mrs. Tori?"

"Yeah she awesome have you?"

"No but I will this semester. Is it true that she is really strict."

"No she is actually a great teacher and gives out a lot of bonus points."

"Well that's good. Have a nice night," he says while handing me the bags.

We both smile and head our separate ways.

As soon as we step into the frigid Chicago air Christina says,

"He was so flirting with you!"

I look at her with shock and say, "No he wasn't."

"Look I know you think guys don't look at you that way but trust me. From where I was standing he was flirting."

I shake my head and unlock the car. But even though I would never admit this to Christina I am kind of hoping he was flirting.

When we get I lay my purse on the counter and pull out my phone.

But when I take it out the receipt from earlier falls to the ground.

When I bend down to pick it up I see what Tobias had written earlier.

His number.

So this is a one shot of how Tris and Tobias meet. This happened to my sister and I today except she didn't get his number ;)
