"I can't believe it!"
"What is he doing here?!"
"Go away, traitor!"
Those were the kind of things he now had to hear from the people he had once protected all on his own. Those were the words thrown at him after he cried out of joy when seeing them alive. Sticks and stones were thrown at him after he saw his dead sister lying on a flower-bed. "Do-don't you guys think that's enough?" A shy female fairy going by the name Ende asked.
"No! If he didn't abandon the forest all those years ago lady Elaine and all the others would still be alive!" One of her fairy friends said.
"But... He..." The fairies had just stopped listening to her and kept throwing stuff at Harlequin. Ende had never seen him so helpless. He looked like a lost child who didn't know where he was or was far to scared to fight back. She wanted to go over there and protect him. Protect him like he had done with all the rest of them so often. But she couldn't. She was weak, and insecure. She didn't have what it took to stand up to the others. Quietly, she flew behind a tree and hid herself. "I'm sorry, Harlequin. I know you would never abandon us like that. And you were just going out to save our friends. Your best friend was with them. I wish I would have helped back then. And I wish I could help you now... But... How a-am I supposed to step up for you... If I can't even do it for myself?" Ende muttered to herself as she started crying.
