I don't own Total Drama.
Gwen lay in bed contemplating her life. All Stars had been brutal for her. Duncan was a jerk, Courtney lied to her, Mal terrorized everybody, Chris was… Chris. Everything sucked. She was feeling a bit lonely and very worn out. She needed to talk to somebody.
She picked up her phone and scrolled through her contacts. She dialed friend after friend, but all she got was voicemail.
"Hi, it's Bridgette. I can't come to my phone right now because I'm probably out surfing but I'll call you back when I can."
"Whassup, it's LeShawna! You just got my answering machine so leave me a message and I'll ring you up when I get it!"
"Hi, Mike here! I'm busy right now but I'll call you back when I can so leave a message!"
"… Hey, Noah, are you sure it's recording? Ok, hey, it's Owen! *fart* Sorry, Noah. Ok, um, whoever you are, call me back! I mean, I'll call you back!"
Gwen flopped back and groaned. Nobody that she had called so far was answering their phone! She glanced at her phone and scrolled through the contacts some more.
"Pizza… bla, bla, bla… that neighbor lady mom made me put here… Trent… wait, Trent? Huh, I forgot that he was in my contacts list." Gwen looked up and memories whizzed by. She remembered how charming he was when she first met him. She chuckled at the memory of how brutal the Awake-a-Thon was and how he was by her side talking their way through it. The feeling of embarrassment when Heather led her diary out loud.
A frown spread across her face as she recalled him leaving her buried alive. But, he did dig her back up again. Her mind spun with memories, both good and bad.
"Should I call him or not? It's been nearly a year since we've last talked… Oh, what the heck." Gwen pressed her finger to the phone and dialed his number. She put her phone to her ear and listened as it rang once… twice…
"Hello?" came Trent's voice.
"Hey, Trent, it's Gwen."
"Wow, this is so funny, I was actually just thinking about you!"
"Really?"
"Yeah, anyways, um, not to be rude, but did you need something?" Gwen's face fell for a moment.
"No, not really. I'm not exactly feeling my best right now and really needed somebody to talk to."
"Oh, ok." Trent said. There was an awkward silence.
"Anyways, how was All Stars?"
"Not so good. I don't really want to get into details, but that season seriously kicked my butt." Gwen said. A light chuckle was heard from Trent's end of the phone. Hearing his laugh made Gwen smile.
"I'm sorry, that was rude of me." said Trent.
"No, it's ok. I needed to hear a laugh. I need to laugh."
"In that case, would you like to hear a joke?"
"Why not?"
"Ok, here goes, what did the dog family bring with them on their camping trip?"
"Um, I don't know, hot dogs?"
"Not quite the answer I was thinking of, but good try. A pup tent!"
"That is so… I don't even know." Gwen laughed after a moment.
"Sure, but do you feel better now?" Trent asked. Gwen paused.
"Yeah, yeah it did."
Author's Note: Well, that was that. I know that it wasn't my best work, but whatever. I've been having a bit of writers block lately. Anyways, I hope that you liked it anyways and I'll see you next time.
