(MY DISCLAIMER: I don't own fruits basket… although I'm thinking about starting a manga…)
CRACK! Boooom!
Tohru bolted up, heart pounding. It'd been the third dream, the one of Kyo and Yuki and everyone. The one where they all died in front of her.
CRACK! Boooom!
Tohru shrieked and jumped a bit. Then she covered her mouth, afraid to wake Kyo, Yuki, and Shigure. Rain padded softly on her window with little cat paws. (A/N Always the Kyo-optimist.)
Cat paws…
CRACK! Boooom!
Tohru jumped up, disentangling herself from the sheets as she hugged her arms to her chest. She just needed someone other than her beloved teddy bear Snuggles to cuddle with tonight. As she padded across the hall, she turned into Kyo's room.
CRACK! Boooom!
"Kyo!" she whispered, tiptoeing into the room. He grunted and shot up.
"Whasthat?" he slurred, sleep-dead. He took in Tohru's hunched form, her face caked with tears and a few stray eyelashes, her sapphire eyes red-rimmed and puffy from crying.
"Oh, Tohru. Was it that dream again?" he murmured, wishing he could take her in his arms. Instead, he had to settle for an arm around her shaking shoulders.
Tohru nodded, burying her face in his shoulder. He stroked her hair absentmindedly.
CRACK! Boooom!
"Jeez this thunder's obnoxious." He hissed. She smiled a thin, tearful smile through her hair.
"K-Kyo? C-can I stay here? Y-you know *hic*, like s-sleep here?"
Her voice startled him out of his thoughts. "Wouldn't you want to go ask Yuki? After all, that nezumi is your boyfriend." He growled angrily. He knew it, just knew. She'd turn away and ask Yuki to sleep in his bed.
What Tohru did surprised him.
"No!" Suddenly, she was nose to nose with him and she was staring straight into his eyes. "I don't love him. Not at all as you think. He's a brother. YOU'E the one I love. But, I guess you don't want me back. Like you said way back when, I shouldn't even be here."
He stood. Shock rippled like rain across his face.
CRACKKKK! Booooooom!
Tohru was leaving; the door was almost where she was. His arm snaked out; his hand took hers and pulled her to him.
"When would I ever mean that?" he breathed in her ear. She shivered. He pulled back his head a little to gaze into her eyes.
CRACK! Boooom!
Their lips met at the strike of the lightning meeting the Earth. And as that happened, Tohru thought, 'Maybe lightning isn't so bad after all.'(A/N NOT AT ALL:D)
"Kyo! Tohru! WAKEY WAKEY!"yelled Shigure, opening Tohru's door. Empty.
Kyo's door opened and what greeted Shigure shocked the pants off his perverted puppy butt. (A/N LOL! He be a PERV!)
Tohru and Kyo lay asleep in Kyo's bed, Kyo's arm around Tohru's waist and hers curled around his neck. Their chests were touching, yet Kyo was a fully-clothed human with no cat-ness in sight.
Shigure closed the door, calling down the stairs, "Hey, Yuki, let's go out for lunch, Tohru needs sleep and I'm hungry!"
A/N HOW CUTE RIGHT? I based this off another story…I think…. It might've been mine….
