We all fall down. Do we all get up?

Pairing: jace/isabelle

a/n: i love jace and izzy's brother/sister relationship. A very simple, very short, very fluff story. Family can always put you back together when you're broken.

Picking Up What Has Fallen

Isabelle Lightwood lied on her bed and stared at the ceiling.

She felt pain because Jace longed for Clary, but could never have her. It hurt her to see her brother like this. In this broken-heart state. All he did was lie on the couch and watch Full House re-runs. Clary didn't come to the institution much because she hung out with Simon a lot. Isabelle pulled herself up and went to Jace's room. She lightly knocked on the door. She pushed it open.

"Jace." She said disappointed because she found him lying under the sheets like a little kid hiding from the monsters under his bed.

"What?" he grumbled.

"Come on." She sat at the foot of his bed and put her hand on his leg.

"You can't mope around your whole life." She pointed out.

"Isabelle," he said snapping up.

"Stop trying to comfort me. I'm fine."

"Jace you've been in your room for 3 days. I miss you." She admitted.

His face softened.

"Izzy," he put his hand on hers. She looked up.

"I'm sorry. I am acting like a jack ass."

"Well-" she hesitated.

"Look, I promise I'll stop. Why don't we go out?" for a moment it sounded like he was asking her out on a date.

"Um ok Jace, dinner, but we're not having hate sex afterward." She said playfully.

"Of course not. Taki's?"

"Sure." She beamed.

They went to Taki's and sat and talked all night. Jace had fallen, but his sister Isabelle had picked him up.
