Valentines Day. Glinda never thought this one day would bring her so much pain or grief. This Valentines Day would not be much different than last years except she would not be worrying about her love. She knew her love was safe and in a better place. But now she had no hope, no one to wish for. No one to hold her close at night; no one to whisper sweet nothings in her ear. No one to tell her they love her with all their heart. The person that stole her heart and made her feel whole is gone, and never coming back. But she would wait for her chance to be with them again when her time came. "Elphie, I miss you so much," Glinda whispered to the gravestone. Silent tears made their way down her face. She reached out to the gravestone and traced the name on it tentatively, Elphaba Thropp. "This will be the first Valentines Day were I can't wish for you to be here with me." Glinda heard soft footsteps coming up behind her, and it scared her. No one knew where she was. Yes they knew she was in the garden but they didn't know exactly where. If it was one of the guards she would most likely be thrown in a insane asylum because she was grieving for Oz's most feared villain.
"Mom? You okay?"
Glinda's fears quickly dissipated, it was only her daughter. "I'm fine, how did you know where to find me Crystal?"
"I'm a fairly observant 8 year old, that's how." Crystal said as she came closer to her mother. She wiped away some of the tears off Glinda's face. "Happy Valentines Day, I'll be inside if you need me okay?"
Glinda nodded and watched her daughter leave. "Elphie, I have to go, but I'll be thinking of you all day." Glinda placed a single red rose on in front of the grave. "I love you." With that Glinda got up from where she had been sitting, straightened her dress and mentally prepared herself for the Ozian celebrations she would face today.
A/N: Sorry if it didn't make a whole lot of sense. Crystal is Glinda's adopted daughter. This can be read in conjunction with As Long As You're Mine, it might make more sense.
