Fun fact: I kicked around a bunch of title names before settling on this one. It's hard to name a collection of drabbles, especially since they're ongoing. A few of the wonderfully awful title ideas were... Precious Snowflake; Flakes of Snow; Flaky Snow; Snowflakes in the Snow; Yukine: Precious Snowflake, Winter Soldier; Crying Snowflakes, Salty Snow. These titles are so bad, I love them. While "A God's Pride" is the official title, it'll always be "Precious Snowflake" to me.

So far, these drabbles are based off the 100-theme challenge.

Theme #1: Love

A God's Pride

Yato's pride shines like a million watts, like the sun, beaming, warm and strong. It makes Yukine want to shield his eyes, hide his face, before anyone can see the blush.

It's all at once too much. Embarrassing. Wonderful. To have someone believe in you. For someone to think you're so good they want to brag.

Sometimes he thinks about what he had done, how he had nearly gotten Yato killed. He thinks about what was then and what is now.

He didn't deserve it. Yato held out for him anyways.

"You were worth it," Yato's smile tells him. It's the smile Yukine sees as he lugs boxes of merchandise to Daikoku's store in the morning, as he scrubs the store floor at night, as he stays up even later to study. It's the smile he sees as he shifts into a blade and cuts through the darkness.

It's too much. It makes Yukine want to slap him when he says, "My son."
