Harry Potter influenced an entire generation. It is loved by all ages, all over the world.

Twilight influenced teenage girls, who now fight over which boy the main character should have ended up with.

So, what do you think? Which one is better?

We'll start with Harry Potter.

The author; J.K. Rowling was a single mom living on benefit checks when she created the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. She is now one of the richest women in Britain. Her books have given way to multiple merchandise lines, a theme park, chat rooms, websites, forums, debates, discussions, plot line exploration, cookbooks, eight movies, and trillions of adoring fans.

The books; the seven Harry Potter novels are beautifully written. They tell us a story of a young boy who doesn't know his place in the world. Then he finds it. Harry Potter is a tale of overcoming evil, biases, and discrimination. It speaks of love, friendship, and magic. 934,768 Harry Potter books are sold monthly the most ever sold daily is about 2,075.

The movies; all eight movies have been watched many times over. Each one has improved greatly upon the movies prior. The last movie made more money in the box office than all of the Oscar nominees that year, combined. Collectively, the movies have made approximately $6,368,329,882 making them the highest grossing film series of all time.

It's success; the number of fans is too many too count. Only 7% of people who have heard of Harry Potter disapprove. The main reason of the disapproval is religious reasons. Over 400 million copies have been sold worldwide.

Fan Database; Pope Benedict XVI, numerous musicians, even Twilight actors, have admitted to being fans. A few of the Hunger Games cast even dressed up to go to the premiere of the eighth film.

And now for Twilight.

The author; Stephenie Meyer, had never written a real book before Twilight. Her inexperience in the writing world is clear to me. Her books have given way to five movies, websites, debates over boys, discussions over boys, and fans.

The books; the four Twilight books are written to tell one story only, there are no underlying plot lines to study, there is only Bella wondering which boy she should be with. Approximately 1.3 million copies have been sold worldwide.

The movies; all five movies are watched by teenage girls. So far, they have progressively gotten worse. Collectively they have made around $100 million. The movies have centered around the protagonist's struggle to decide between boys. 1.3 million copies of the books have sold.

Fan Database; Teenage girls make up the majority of the fan database of this saga.

It's success; Twilight has not managed to snag half as many fans as Harry Potter. Many people disapprove of Twilight's message and its content.

The debate; so which one is conclusively better? Harry Potter is better written, has sold more copies, has made more money, and has a larger fan base. Twilight is poorly written, and you can't exactly argue that Harry Potter has only sold more books because there are more books in the series, because over 400 million compared to 1.3 million is pretty pathetic. In conclusion, Harry Potter tells a better story and is better written, it has experienced quite a bit more success. Harry Potter is better.
