"So tell me, Potter. Why am I here? What is so important that you refused to tell me?"
Draco was annoyed. He wanted to spend the day brewing his potions but Potter forced him to visit him. He did not even want to tell him via floo network. Everything could have been so easy but not with Potter.
"Welcome, Draco. I have to show you something, this is why I couldn't tell you. I would have, believe me. Follow me, you'll know why."
Harry was just as happy as Draco. But the Malfoy heir followed him. He could not deny that he was curious. They walked into an empty room. Draco narrowed his eyes. Did Potter just wanted to play with him?
"And what do you want to –"
"Look at the wall. It's the Black's family tree. I thought that...you should know. After all, your mother is a Black and so are you... I also got a textbook for noble houses. Thought that you'd like to have it? I can't use it."
Draco walked closer to the wall and looked at the pictures. Some pictures were destroyed, maybe because they were traitors or whatever. And in fact, there was a picture of his mother and himself. It was a beautiful painting and maybe he could repair the burnt ones. He looked at the textbook and picked it up. Ancient and noble houses in Great Britain. He was sure that his father never had such a book, only books about the Malfoy family. But this would be more interesting.
"Thank you, Potter. This...means a lot for my mother."
Harry could see a smile on his face. This was the first conversation without any insults or sarcasm. And he had to admit that...it was really nice to chat with Malfoy as if they were friends.
"Is this all? Or do you have other things you'd like to show me?"
The golden boy shook his head.
"No, that would be all. If you want to, you could visit with your mother so she could also look at the wall..."
Draco just nodded and smiled a little. It was hard to be nice but Potter saved his life. And his mother's life.
"I might. After all, I plan to fix the burnt ones. Goodbye, Potter."
And with that Malfoy apparated. Harry looked forward to see him around the house sometimes. It could get lonely from time to time...
