"You worry too much."
Katherine sighed, looking out the window again. Mundi had been saying that far too often recently, and Katherine was more than aware of how easily she would overanalyse a situation. Mundi leaned over to wrap her arm around Katherine, rubbing her shoulder comfortingly.
"Ben will be fine," Mundi said softly. "He's with your mother, she knows how to protect both of them."
"That is not much of a comfort when we know Betti is on the loose again." Katherine folded her arms, but still leaned into Mundi's touch. "She trapped mum before, and we know that she can destroy worlds. She will be out for revenge and she knows exactly what she's looking for. We have no upper hand anymore."
Mundi leaned her head against Katherine's, smoothing her hair down. It was so easy to feel relaxed around Mundi. There was something about her that felt instantly comforting and reassuring. It was unlike anything Katherine had ever experienced with anyone else. Being around Mundi just felt so completely natural, even though she could only be described as Katherine's polar opposite. Mundi was relaxed and based all of her decisions on instinct, and had incredible insight on almost every situation. She was able to read people like a book. She could smell their thoughts and attitudes. Katherine, on the other hand, was a structured and logical thinker. It was clear that Mundi had had an influence on her, she had ever since they'd met, Katherine had become more relaxed and tactful, but she would probably forever be a highly-strung over-thinker.
"I just wish I could do something," Katherine said, sitting up stiffly and rubbing her eyes in frustration.
"There is something you can do," Mundi replied, smiling slightly. "You can rest. Take a breath. You've been through a lot and you need time to recover. The recovery is just as important as the race."
Katherine laughed slightly. "Yeah. I guess you're right." She leaned against Mundi again, relaxing into her and Mundi wrapped her arms around her. "I just need to take a breath."
