"Come on!" I groaned, "That's the fifth time I've tried to defeat the Darker Lord."
"Eh, it took me awhile too when I first got there," my friend Claire said shrugging her shoulders.
I sighed.
"You should probably level up your miis, that helps."
I shook my head, "That takes wa-a-a-a-y too long."
Claire rolled her eyes, "Whatever Jace. I'm gonna go get something to eat, wanna come?"
"No I'm fine."
Claire walked out of my room and I entered the Darker Lord level again, except, something seemed off. The screen was kind of blurry and all the characters were disfigured. The text on the screen kept glitching out.
"What in the world," I muttered.
I flipped the 3DS over and examined the back, preparing to take out the came card. As my hand reached for the game, my fingers grazed over something.
"OW!" I yelped in surprise.
I looked down at the DS and saw a deep crack running from the top of the camera lens, to where you insert the game.
When did that happen? I wondered.
Then it hit me like a bunch of pounds.
I was laughing with my friend Claire as we we're playing Tomodachi Life. We were trying to make each other laugh by making the weirdest songs possible. Right as her song started playing I cracked up laughing.
Have you ever had that dream? Of reaching for the potato?
Or jumping out the window and saying yipee?

"Jace that isn't even that funny."
"I can't," I said, gasping through my hysterical giggles.
I felt something slide through my fingers and land on the ground with a big thump.
"I'll get it," I said, still laughing.
Right when I was about to pick up my DS I slipped, falling straight onto it.
*CRUNCH*
Claire burst out laughing, "You should have seen your face! You were all like," Claire made a scared face and flailed her arms around pretending to scream.
I rolled my eyes but still smiled, "Whatever."
I picked up my DS (without seriously injuring myself this time) and examined it. Everything seemed to be fine as I glanced over it, but how had I missed that huge crack?
"Earth to Jace!" Claire waved her hand over my face, "Helloo? Anyone home?" Apparently Claire had come back.
I shook my head and sat up straighter, "Sorry I was just thinking about this," I pointed to the big crack in the DS.
"Wait what? How'd that happen?"
"To sum it up I'll just say I fell on it."
"Oh. Sorry, that's too bad."
"Eh it's ok, this DS is really old anyway...Hey, do you hear that?"
"Hear what?"
"There's some sort of buzzing coming from," I looked down at the broken DS, "There."
"Hmm that's strange."
I turned the DS around and noticed that it had shut off leaving the screen blank and dark.
"Hey Jace, is it just me or is that crack glowing?"
I flipped the DS over wide-eyed, the crack was indeed glowing and giving off a strange yellowish light.
"I-I don't think that's supposed to happen,"
After those words, everything instantly exploded into whiteness.
