Maya is a brown haired, green eyed girl. Today is her 10th birthday which meant she was finally old enough to start her journey as a Pokemon trainer.
"Maya breakfast is ready!" Maya heard her mother call then she finished getting herself ready,meaning she put on her long green dress, brown boots and pilot goggles, for her big day and headed downstairs.
Once downstairs Maya went into the kitchen and sat down at the table where her mother had prepared for her, her favorite breakfast meal, strawberry French toast. After finishing her breakfast Maya grabbed her backpack purse and headed out to see Professor Oak. When Maya reached Professor Oak's lab she went inside and was immediately greeted by the Professor.
"Maya my dear how it is nice to see you I hear you are finally at the age to begin your Pokemon journey."
Maya nodded and smiled brightly, she could barely contain her excitement.
"Well as you should already know first you must pick the Pokemon you wish to become your first companion on your journey." Professor Oak explains then goes over to a shelf and brings over a platter with three pokeballs on it. "You have the choice between a Squirtle, a Bulbasaur, or a.." The Professor was cut off by the pokeball that contained the final pokemon choice bursting open and an orange blur immediately launching itself into Maya's arms. Maya laughed and hugged the orange lizard like Pokemon which she recognized as a Charmander.
"Professor if it is ok with you I think I will take this little guy." Maya says while still holding the Charmander who was gently nuzzling her face.
"I think that would be a perfect idea I can tell by the way it is reacting to you that you two will become a great team and best friends." Professor Oak agreed then handed Maya the Charmander's pokeball.
Maya put the pokeball in her bag, with some difficulty do to the Charmander on her.
"Oh and before you leave there is something else you will need for your journey." The Professor then hands Maya a Pokedex. "Be sure to use this to document all the Pokemon you encounter on your journey." He says then walks away to go back to his very important research.
Maya finally detached the Charmander from her but allowed it to stay outside of its pokeball, she then headed back home to pack for her long trip, the Charmander following her close behind.
Once Maya had finished packing it was around dinner time so she decided that she would wait until the next morning to head off. Maya went down to eat dinner when her mother called her then afterwards she went back upstairs to brush her teeth and get into bed, soon falling into a peaceful sleep filled with dreams of the morning and what adventures may lie ahead, the Charmander decided to stay out of its Pokeball longer and sleep at the foot of Maya's bed.
