This story is in honor of my dog. She will be missed by those who knew her. I just felt in the mood to write a story with her in mind, even though it's about Farmer Maggot and his dogs. This drabble is a little over 250 words.

Ever since Mr. Maggot owned and trained his three dogs – Grip, Fang and Wolf – he himself gained considerable ground of the mushroom thieves. While his three dogs, Wolf being the most vicious of the three, were excellent at tracking the scoundrels and rascals off his land, Mr. Maggot had a certain fondness to these dogs. Wolf he named for the dog's wolf-like appearance.

Mrs. Maggot called her husband from the window: "Mr. Maggot, don't be late for supper!"

"Wolf, will you stop your howling?!" said Mr. Maggot. Well, most of the time Grip, Wolf and Fang were good watch dogs. "Grip, Fang, what's the racket!"

"Mr. Maggot," said a familiar Tookish voice. That voice belonged to Peregrin Took, who was a good friend of Mr. Maggot, same as Peregrin's friend Meriadoc Brandybuck.

"Eh?" Mr. Maggot approached the three travelers, who walked towards him. "Mr. Peregrin Took, fancy meeting you here at this hour." It was then he saw the familiar, now mature hobbit standing next to Peregrin Took and the third traveling hobbit. "Why, if it isn't Frodo Baggins, the rascal who always stole mushrooms off my land."

"Yes sir. It's me," said Frodo, nervous about what might happen that evening.

Frodo nerves were set right when he and his friends, Pippin Took and Samwise Gamgee, Frodo's gardener, entered Mr. Maggot's house and met his family. In the end, Frodo still carried a basket full of mushrooms. This was a generous offer from Mrs. Maggot, one that Frodo would not soon forget.

This is my own take on the night Frodo, Sam and Pippin entered Bamfurlong and met Farmer Maggot. It's still in memory of my dog, but I hope this is a good drabble. What do you readers think? I'll see you in the next fanfic or during my current longer fanfics. :)
