The snow was falling, thick and heavy, in the beams of the headlights. He could have run but he decided he needed to be able to do normal things once in a while. Turning in to the parking lot of the gas station, Seth pulled up to the pump and shut off the engine. Jacob and his father Billy had been teaching him about cars and he had found himself enjoying it. Life had finally gotten back to normal.

And by normal, that meant that everything was quiet. Nessie was now full grown and Jacob was completely devoted to her. Edward had taken a while to get used to this but now he was happy for them. Seth and Edward had become good friends as well with Edward teaching Seth about music and how to play the piano. Carlisle taught Seth about medicine, and Emmitt taught him how to fight. Even Leah had softened toward the Cullen's, especially since she imprinted last year. The Cullen's had become Seth's second family.

After filling up the tank, he made his way to the building. Just then a car pulled up to the pump directly next to his. Stopping he watched as the driver, a girl with shoulder length brown hair, shut off the engine and got out of the car. Looking closer, he could barely see another girl in the passenger seat.

Going around the car, he walked into the store to pay for his gas. Wandering around a bit he grabbed a bag of chips and a soda. The ding of the door caught his attention and he turned to the front. The two girls from the other car were making their way around the store. Curious about them, Seth watched as the brunette paid for the gas and the other girl, noticing that she had blonde hair down the middle of her back, walked to the cooler.

She turned and looked at Seth as she reached for the handle on the cooler door. It was like the clouds parted and a single ray of sunshine shone only on her. His breath caught in his throat and his chest constricted. He stood there, struck senseless as she smiled at him, shyly whispering Hello as she grabbed a drink from the case. Turning fully toward him, she hesitated, as if she wanted to say something but was embarrassed.

He couldn't move, he couldn't think. He memorized everything about her in those few seconds. Her green eyes had tiny specks of brown in them; her lips were a rosy pink and full. Her perfect little nose added to the perfection of her face. As she looked at him awkwardly, she pushed her hair behind her ear and half smiled.

He blinked as if he couldn't believe it had happened. Imprint. This incredibly beautiful stranger was his imprint. Just as he realized this, she set her drink on the nearest shelf and hurried out of the store.

Without thinking he raced after her and made it to the door as she shut the door to the car. She looked at him from the window and waved.

Wait he whispered as he stood there, in the snow, watching his soul mate drive away without ever find out who she was.
