Birthday Presents.

Summary: It's just a joke, Cashie, can you take it?

Disclaimer: I (sadly) own nothing.

For her seventeenth birthday, (the year after she was crowned victor, two years after him), Gloss presented his sister with a sweater. It's not much to think of, just a sweater right? A sweater is a very common gift. Especially between siblings. But she was furious, because the sweater was cashmere. Making a mockery of her name. Cashmere (the living, breathing blonde, not the hideous baby blue thing,) had stormed off while her brother doubled over with laughter.

"It's just a joke, Cashie!"

She fled her house in Victor's Village, opting to go to a quiet grassy area, she sat staring up at the stars. Comforting. Then she started to think. (Don't mock, she was top of her class at school.)

Was that all people saw her to be? Something to look at, to buy, beat and then throw away when done? (President Snow and her dozen of clients seemed to think so.) She expected something like this from Enobaria. (What? Contrary to popular belief, and age they were quite friendly.) She didn't expect something like this from her brother. Her brother was supposed to keep her happy, and vice versa. Her brother cleaned her wounds after a bad client, he calmed her down when she had nightmares. He wasn't to make a mockery of her, like Enobaria. He, admittedly, wasn't supposed to do a lot of things he did to his sister, but he DID do them and they both revelled in it.

Cashmere simply couldn't understand Gloss, one minute he was being concerned about her, next minute he pulls a stunt like, like THIS. When she had opened the package and screwed her face up, he had tried to brush it off as a joke, laughing trying to make her laugh. But there was a tinge of malice in his laughter, cruelty in his blue-y green eyes. She had chucked the sweater at him before leaving, hurling sharp words, which told him too 'crawl off and DIE.' Before fleeing her house and ending up here, staring at the stars. Cashmere smiles.

On Gloss's eighteenth birthday, Cashmere gave Gloss a selection of lip-glosses, laughing as he screwed up his face and proceeded to chuck them at her.

"It's just a joke, Glossie!"
