"Has Sayu told you yet?"
Sekka Yufu blinked a little, looking up from the snowglobe she'd come to stare at through the window almost every day. She didn't have the money to buy it, but with the summer arriving quickly, she didn't have too many things to remind her of the winter weather she so loved.
Yurika Sai stood nearby, leaning against the wall next to the window, his arms crossed, and a calm expression on his face. He stared ahead, not necessarily at anything in particular. Depending on how one looked at him, he could have been bored or deep in thought. Yufu returned her gaze to the snowglobe.
"About what?"
"Her relationship."
"Oh, Haku-san?"
"So she has."
"Yes."
Yufu's expression didn't change. Sai grunted, looking away.
"So what do you think?" he asked. Yufu was quiet for several moments before she responded.
"I'm happy for her," she said, quietly shooting a small smile at her companion. Sai frowned.
"I'm not. I mean, I am. But. I'm not. I mean. Well. You know?" Yufu giggled at Sai's explanation, nodding.
"I understand. You're overprotective of your sister, and you'e uncomfortable now that she's romantically involved with someone."
Sai almost glared at Yufu. He resisted, though, and nodded. It was true, after all; even he couldn't deny it.
"If Sayu ever started dating anyone, I'd think it would have been you."
Yufu felt a blush creep up her cheeks. She hated that feeling. It was too hot. Far too hot for her liking.
"Me? Ah ... Sayu-chan did say Haku-san reminded her of me ..."
Sai smirked. "I'd feel more comfortable if she'd chosen you, to be honest. At least I know for sure you won't hurt her."
Yufu shook her head. "Mm, why not give Haku-chan a chance? If Sayu-chan is right, and Haku-san is a little like me ..."
"She's not."
Yufu frowned, that flush still on her cheeks, and looked at Sai again, almost desperately; she really wished this conversation would be dropped already.
"Sai-kun ... just give her a chance. I have yet to meet Haku-san, but she can't be all that bad ..."
Sai fell silent, then looked away. "Hmph." The two remained silent for another several moments, before Yufu spoke again.
"And you, Sai-kun? Have you found anyone?"
This took Sai by surprise, and he coughed several times, sinking down against the side of the store wall. Yufu blinked and got down on all fours, crawling over to him and looking at him curiously. Sai finished his fit, a flush on his cheeks, and looked away.
"U-Um, nobody." Yufu offered a knowing smile.
"I'm smarter about these sorts of things than you think, Sai-kun. What happened?"
Sai was quiet. Yufu giggled again.
"Who is it?"
"... Fuuga."
"Koto-chan? Ah, she's very sweet."
"It was an accident. She was yelling at me, I was yelling at her, I grabbed her, pinned her down, and while she was trying to get out, she kicked me and we sort of just ... yeah. Kissed." Sai explained slowly. Yufu nodded.
"Do you like her?"
Sai choked again.
"... I don't know." Yufu sat next to him and smiled gently.
"You'll figure it out." She leaned a little on him, resting her head on his shoulder.
"You will. I know it." Sai flushed a little more, then smiled and closed his eyes.
"Maybe."
