Rays of sunlight from an open window shone through the the crystal chandelier, colorful spots of reflected light danced across the walls. Leo stared at the fractured rainbow, a bored expression on his face. The noirette didn't have much to do these days, ever since Elliot died, he had spent his days alone in his room, at first he cried, tears spilling from his dark eyes, shoulders shaking, throat hoarse from screaming Elliot's name, but as time passed and Leo grew weary, he felt hollow, as if there was a space in his chest that could only be filled by that blond haired boy. Now the noirette just felt numb, tired of crying, tired of living. He distanced himself from everyone, it wasn't that difficult, hardly anybody talked to him, they wanted Glen, not Leo, he was simply a pawn, a puppet who's strings were being pulled by Glen.

"Master Leo?" a voice called.

Leo turned his head slightly and fixed his gaze on the person at his door, it was Vincent.

"What is it?"

"There's a visitor to see you, he's at the gate."

"Very well" Leo said with a sigh. It was a chain most likely, wanting to contract the the great Glen Baskerville, how many chains did Leo have already? Four? Five?

He stood up and followed Vincent through the twisting corridors.

"Who is it?"

"Its ... Elliot" Vincent said quietly when the pair stopped in front of the gate.

Leo's eyes widened. Elliot? No it couldn't be, he was dead right? It was Leo's own fault, but then who was at the gate? He had to know. The noirette rushed to the gate and threw the doors open. What awaited him was nothing he could have ever imagined. Leo gasped, it was the most horrendous thing he had ever seen, a monster, bloody chains hung from its arms, trailing on the floor, its mouth full of sharp, inhuman teeth, it looked like a ragdoll, as if it was broken and someone had attempted to sew it back together.

"All the kings horses, and all the kings men, couldn't put Humpty together again"

Leo screamed, he couldn't help it, it wasn't the teeth, or the messily sewn on limbs, it was its eyes, they were a bright cobalt blue, staring straight at the noirette. Did it recognize him? Did it remember anything? Leo took a step back, tears welling behind his eyes.

His beloved, the person he had trusted, he had cared for, now stood in front of him, not as the beautiful man Elliot had once been, but as a beastly chain, mutated by the power of Abyss.

Leo felt hands attach themselves to his arms and pull him away. Everything seemed to happen in slow motion, as the great doors to Abyss swung closed, those blue eyes never left his.

Leo felt his legs give out from underneath him, the hands still clutching his arms, clumsily lowered the noirette down. He vaguely heard Vincent call his name.

But Leo wasn't listening.

"Elliot" He whispered, as tears cascaded down his cheeks. "What have I done to you?"
