She'd never felt like this before, the feeling of fear. Well, she had, but not so strongly. Sokka fingertips were curled around hers, but she knew he couldn't hold on forever.
"Looks like this is the end." he mumbled, pain in his voice. She felt the hot tears stream down her face.
She couldn't let him die, just couldn't. She was aware of the firebenders, moving into position around them.
"Goodbye Toph." he said quietly. Was he…? He was. He was crying.
"Goodbye Sokka." she choked. "I won't forget you."
The heat that approached her was too much. She let go.

She fell, tears dying on her pale face. He was gone now and her end would come soon.
"I won't forget you…" she repeated. She'd always loved the earth, but when she met it this time it was cold and unwelcoming. Then the feelings were gone. Everything was gone. Sokka, Aang and Katara. Her family.
"I won't forget any of you."
