The Enemy
"You've been fraternizing with the enemy!" Ron shouted at his best mate.
"N-no, I didn't enter," Harry stammered back. He felt cornered by these false accusations made by Ron's jealousy.
"You know what, Harry, forget it. When you feel like actually being a real friend, lemme know." Ron glared pointedly at Harry before flopping on his side to go to sleep.
Harry lay awake most of the night thinking about the events that day which led Ron into some sort of misunderstanding.
Flashback
Draco jumped down from a tree by the lake and landed gracefully in Harry's path. He sneered as he stepped toe to toe with his rival.
"Oh, Potter, just the person I wanted to see."
"What do you want Malfoy?" Harry's voice giving way to his stress and fatigue faced by the Triwizard Tournament. Draco faltered in his attack of the Boy-Who-Lived.
"I, uh," Draco stammered. Regaining his composure again he sneered for all he was worth. "How does perfect Golden Boy always get what he wants hmm? Just wait till my father hears about you being in this tournament Potter." Draco tried hard to spit out Harry's last name with as much venom as he could muster.
"I don't give a damn what your father thinks about this, nor what you think either Malfoy! Just shove off, I don't need this from you." Harry pushed Draco away, but Draco was quick to grab Harry's arm and pulled him close.
"Harry, I'm worried for you," Draco murmured into Harry's ear so just he could hear. He let the boy go roughly brushing passed him and stalking off. Harry was left staring after Draco in a confused daze. It was then that Ron started to come to the conclusion that Harry was now trying to replace him with the ferret of all people. How wrong he was.
End Flashback
Harry didn't know what to make of Draco's moment of compassion still. He eventually drifted into a fitful sleep with dreams of the blonde Slytherin.
