Merry Deathmas
Christmas, a day when you should be happy, and be celebrating with your family. Huh, well, we thought that we knew what Christmas was, but apparently not. How long had he been planning for this day? Who knows? Oh god, he's coming closer. I have to write this as fast as possible.
The 24th of December. We all were invited to Finland. We all of course thought that it would be the usual celebrating, gift opening and getting drunk while listening to heavy metal in Helsinki. It came as a big surprise to us when Finland told us that when would take us to his cabin somewhere in the North. Oh, how I wish we wouldn't have listened to him. After many hours, we arrived. It was dark, which wasn't unusual. The cabin was cold, with no electricity.
We celebrated normally after that, until Finland suggested that we would play a game. We agreed. We went outside, but Finland apparently had to get something from his room. We waited, for a long time. Then suddenly, we hear quiet singing. It sounded like the normal Christmas song Jingle bells, or at least the beginning, until we heard the words "trying to run away. Through the dark we go, from the path we stray, the bells started to toll~". At that point we realized, this wasn't just a normal 'game'.
I told the others to run, run away from the crazed Finn, that was slowly coming towards us with a rifle. He sang that our deaths were coming near. I heard someone ask why Finland was doing this, but he didn't get an answer, only more quiet singing, before we heard a gunshot echo through the dark night. I ran again, hoping that the others were safe still. Our phones were still at the cabin, and there was no point in turning back. The singing continued, and I could hear him coming closer. Suddenly it started to fade, and I had a feeling that e had found someone else. I was right. A scream, followed by the sound of the gun. I closed my eyes, feeling tears slowly running down my face. I blamed myself for not warning the others. I had known something was off, but now, now two of my friends were dead.
I hid behind a tree, hoping that the Finn wouldn't find me. I had no clue about where to go. Hell, I didn't even know where exactly we were. No were close Helsinki, that's for sure. I wanted to scream for help, but I was too scared. Heh, who wouldn't be in a situation like this? I tried to listen again, but I couldn't hear anything. Not even the singing. That freaked me out. I sat down, shaking badly.
Another gunshot, now it's just me left. I need to stop writing, and I should just run. But where can I hide? This is Finland's land, I can't hide. I'll leave this here, and I'll hope that someone one day finds it. Is this what the republic of Finland wanted all along? Well, he got what he wanted. We now belong to him. This is worse than the Kalmar union.
Shit, he's coming closer, I need to st-
"Jingle bells, jingle bells, death will come your way. No escape, you cannot run, it's our time to play~"
The gunshot echoed through the woods somewhere close to Inari, along with quiet laughter.
