Kugurugi Suzaku was probably rolling around in his grave, Zero thought.
He looked down at his increasingly flabby stomach, the buttons straining slightly to the suit clasped together. The costume, overall, was getting slightly tight. But Zero supposes that he shouldn't have been surprised. It's been years since he stopped his vigorous daily training. There was no need to. Kugurugi Suzaku was dead after all.
And if Kugurugi Suzaku were still alive, he would be forty-seven this year. And if Kugurugi Suzaku were still alive, he would not be getting a little heavy in the middle. But Kugurugi Suzaku was dead, and Zero had never had such a slender waist to begin with.
Zero really didn't mean to gain those extra pounds but years of peace, good food, and no exercise did that to people. Out of all the people Zero knew, he was probably the only one who built up flab.
Todou Kyoshiro kept his thin build all the way to his deathbed two years ago. Gino Weinberg was still thin and charming even as his blond hair hid the sprouting strands of white. Kouzuki Kallen still looks like she was barely forty even though she was the same age as Kugurugi Suzaku if he were still alive.
Everyone was growing old gracefully while Zero gained weight.
Kugurugi Suzaku's father, the late Prime Minister, had been mid-heavy, but Zero never expected to follow the trend. Alas, genetics was hard to escape.
Still, Zero felt some nagging annoyance. Now Zero's image was off.
"Suzaku, I understand you being Zero. But being as vain as Lelouch?"
"Suzaku-san, it's only five pounds."
Kugurugi Suzaku, if he were alive, would be very thankful for Kallen's teasing and Nunnally's reassurance.
But Lelouch vi Britannia was definitely rolling in his grave; Kallen, Nunnully and Kugurugi Suzaku, if he were still alive, agreed.
A/N: I don't know what made me write this. I just felt suddenly obligated to write for Code Geass again. Uh, I don't know what this is actually. -_- I was supposed to be humor but for some reason it didn't come out that way. I hope you enjoyed it regardless.
