Eventful. That's what I would call yesterday. I'm TK. I'm 15 years old and a basketball star at my school. I'm also a digidestined who is retiring from that job. It is one. Yesterday was New Year's Eve. The Digidestined gang were having a big party at Matt's house. It was hardly snowing and I was walking with Kari, another digidestined, and my girlfriend, to my brother's house.
"That pizza was great, don't you think?" I asked Kari.
"Hmmm. I think it needed more cheese." Kari said.
"Huh? That was an extra cheese pizza." I said.
She giggled. "Silly! It was great." Kari replied. We both laughed as we went up the elevator. She was always a kidder. I was standing in front of Matt's apartment door.
"Hey, TK! Hey, Kari!" Tai welcomed us inside.
Everyone else was already there. Yolei, Ken, and Cody was putting on some decorations. Tai sat beside Davis, who was watching a soccer game on TV. Matt and Sora were in the balcony. Izzy, Mimi, and Joe were cooking in the kitchen. I went to greet my brother Happy New Year. Kari gave her gift to Tai. Izzy left to find his laptop. It was buried under gifts and decorations under the still-standing Christmas tree. Yolei went up a ladder to put in a Happy New Year! banner.
"Yikes!" she screamed. She missed a step and was falling.
"I've got you!" Ken said. Ken caught her as he said.
"My hero!" Yolei said, and hugged Ken (probably almost choking him, URRK!). Later, Izzy cranked up some music and everyone started dancing. Everyone was tired out after a while.
It was 11:30. Everyone was just talking about past memories.
"Remember when Tai accidentally spilled juice on Izzy's laptop? And then his laptop exploded in front of his face?" I said. Everyone was laughing so hard, you'd think there was a storm. Even Izzy was laughing. He just laughed at the thought of it nowadays.
"And then Izzy asked, 'Why did you do that for?' And then Tai said–" I was cut off by Kari.
"I thought your laptop was thirsty after downloading those clips!"
"HAHAHAHA!", we all laughed.
"Oh yeah! She was there when that happened! Now she gets stuck with TK here!" Matt said, giving me a weird smile. Kari left her hot chocolate at the table and walked out the front door.
"Kari, wait!" I said. I knew there was something wrong.
"What's wrong?" I asked, following her outside.
"Everyone thinks that we're a sure thing…" she said.
"Well, aren't we?" I told her.
"But what if we break up?" she replied.
"OK. I'll have to think about it myself." I walked away, away from her and the glowing apartment.
"TK!" she said.
11:59:50. "10…9…8…7…6…" Everyone counted inside the house. I came back inside, and took Kari out of the house.
"I… LOVE… YOU!" I cried out.
"TK! Everyone will hear you!"
"HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!" Everyone shouted. They began singing Auld Lang Syne. We both went outside and talked.
"TK loves Kari!" I went up to the roof and cried, "TK is crazy about Kari!"
"TK! Come down!" Kari said.
"NO! Not until you promise me that you'll celebrate New Year's Eve with me next year!" I said.
"Ok! Ok!" she answered.
"Does this mean you love me?" I asked her.
"Yes… yes I do." she said. We kissed and never let go…
