Band Drama

Summary: Never date another band member.

Ever dated a band member? I never have. I don't plan on it either. But for those of you special people in marching band you know exactly what I'm saying in this story. BAND DRAMA. Occurs when two band members date. Counting down the days of band relationships. Record highs and record lows. Let the games began.

Sense the day I stepped into "band world" in eighth grade for my sister's freshman year, I have seen bando drama. It usually happens between a girl and a boy, few occasions now does it happen between same genders, although after band members graduate they usually seem to date the same gender. (My band director has gotten a lot of people out of the closet so to speak.)

Yes, anyways. When two band members get together you watch them like a hawk and count the days the stay together. The shortest ever reported was ten seconds. The longest is currently still going, with a whopping two years. (They're sophomores).

The best part about band drama is the, don't talk to him/her thing. O, don't talk to Danny because he broke up with Emily. Same with John. Ew, look who John is going out with now. Have you seen who Chris was going out with? Yeah, it totally like made him stop talking. He was really mad at her. No one likes her anyways. Hey have you heard that Luke broke up with Jennifer and Jennifer is now going out with Joey. Luke is going out with Jennifer's best friend Amy.

I think we have all heard that way too often. It amazes me with how much of a family the band is. We don't live in Kentucky and marry our cousins. (No offence Kentucky I just couldn't think of the inbreeding state.)

O, and then there is the don't tell anyone who you're dating thing. Yeah right. Rumors spread like a wild fire in band you say you like someone and everyone knows. Heck everyone knows who I like; they know everything about him but have never met him. It gets me. What's more is that they pretend to know exactly who the person is.

I guess my main point is, Band Drama, you've got to love it. Without it there would be no fun. It would just be another day in band. Waiting for another instrument shelf to fall, of another drummer to loose it, another color guard member to break their shoulder, or even worse another dinkle (marching shoes) soul to fall off.

Have your own fun with band drama. And remember it's all in good fun.

God I hate his stinking guts. (Just kiddin).
