Author's Note: So this is technically a remake of The Asian Clan. Even though I love the idea of the Asian Clan's plot, I was having trouble continuing to write it because of where I started it. Thanks to some new manga spoiler leaks, I now have an idea for a solid concrete story that is heavily based on canon, but with my own Eremika twist. Hope you enjoy!

Year 854

It was quiet in the sitting area, inside a safe building. The three tired scouts had been quiet since returning, and an overwhelming dark cloud has remained since Sasha's burial.

After mourning with Sasha's father, the soldiers returned inside and were finally given proper time to rest since returning from the battle in Marley.

The battle in Marley..what a mess it turned into so quickly. Eren Jaeger had taken a violent route in their plan, and innocent civilians and children were slaughtered as a result.

Just as the scouts believed to be safe aboard the airship, a young girl had stowaway on with them, and open fired at their group, killing Sasha almost instantly.

Eren Jaeger had been imprisoned for his crimes, now considered a threat to them. There was blood on his hands, and he was no longer seen as trustworthy. At least...by most people.

Armin was quiet, starring into his tea. He sat on the sofa, while Mikasa was in the armchair. Both of their now had shorter hair compared to only a year ago.

Mikasa's hair was cut at a pixie length, though her bangs were longer in the front now, so she still appeared quite feminine, if anything the new style made her look very mature.

Armin's hair was cut short as well, he looked so different this way. If it wasn't for such grim times, he'd most likely be teased about it.

Connie was sitting on the other sofa across from Armin, and he was silent as well. Unlike Mikasa and Armin, Connie actually had more hair than he used to, though it was still short.

Mikasa didn't really touch her tea, her eyes were red and puffy from crying for so long about Sasha, and she appeared exhausted.

But not just physically exhausted, she was mentally exhausted, and she's been this way for nearly two years now...it was like the stress of this war was finally taking its toll on her, though there were other reasons..

"I wonder...what Eren could be thinking right about now...", Armin sighed, breaking the silence, though didn't look up from his drink.

The dark haired girl glanced up slightly holding a piece of her old red scarf, the one Eren had given her so very long ago.

"Eren's...thinking about us. I know he is...", she said, with no doubt in her voice. Connie tensed up, he then glared and stood.

"Oh come on, seriously?! After everything he's done, you think he's thinking about any of us?!", he snapped angrily.

Mikasa looked up at Connie, biting her lip. "Sasha's dead because of him...who gives a shit what he's thinking...he should rot in jail for this...", Connie growled, shaking furiously.

"Connie, you know that Eren never wanted this! He never wanted this to happen to Sasha..", Mikasa started to speak up, but Connie slammed his fist against the wall, as Mikasa went quiet.

"Sasha...Sasha's dead because of him...no matter if it was intentional or not, her blood is ON his hands...sorry but...after that mess, I find it real hard to believe he thinks about any of us anymore...", Connie said shakily.

Mikasa remained silent, her eyelids growing heavy with tears. Armin also stayed quiet, looking down. "But you two idiots will remain loyal to him till the bitter end...until he gets you both killed...", Connie added, bitterly.

Once again, Armin and Mikasa remained quiet. Connie felt tears welling up in his eyes, as he exited the room, slamming the door a bit behind him.

"Give him time...Sasha was like his twin...", Armin spoke softly, seeing Mikasa's expression. Mikasa looked down grimly.

"He's not completely wrong in what he says Armin...what...what was going on inside Eren's head?", she asked, frustrated.

"I agree...its obvious Eren hasn't been thinking all that straight for a while now...", Armin glanced over at a fancy glass cabinet that contained wine glasses.

"It's gotten worse once he began hitting the bottle...he drinks more than Hannes did...", he admitted.

"I think this started long before he started drinking, Armin..", Mikasa spoke up softly then. Armin looked at her worriedly.

Mikasa remained quiet, they had known each other for so long, Armin already knew what she was thinking. The day they saw the ocean...and when they learned the horrible truth.

No matter if titans existed or not, everyone on the other side wanted Eren's people dead. The only possible way they could have true freedom, is if they killed off the rest of the world's population.

Ever since the beginning, when they were kids, Eren wanted nothing more than freedom. Originally they were like cattle, livestock living behind the wall, living every day life, doing nothing but eat and sleep.

But even after they joined the Scouts, grew wings in a sense by being able to use ODM Gear and kill titans, they were still prisoners.

They were like birds in a cage, flying around endlessly, but never quite going anywhere.

"In Eren's mind...we didn't really get that far from where we started. We just evolved from cattle to caged birds...", Armin sighed softly.

Mikasa had gone quiet, when she suddenly looked up, hearing the sound of very small footsteps running toward the room from the hall.

Then, peering from behind the wall, was a little girl. Well, she was practically a baby still, no older than a year old.

But she had started walking recently, though was still a bit clumsy on her feet. The toddler had fair skin, with black hair, matching her mother's, along with green eyes matching her father's...

In that moment, Mikasa's grim expression faded, even if just a bit, and her eyes lit up. "Carly..!", she cried, standing up.

"Momma!", the toddler hurried over, as Mikasa knelt down, holding her arms out to her daughter. The little one reached her, and they hugged. Mikasa lifted her daughter up, cuddling her close.

"You're walking!", Mikasa exclaimed happily, fighting back tears as Carly nuzzled against her mother. "Momma...I missed you...", she whimpered, clinging tightly to Mikasa.

Mikasa's eyes softened, stroking her baby's hair. "Mommy missed you too, sweetheart", she spoke softly.

Just then, a girl a little older than Mikasa with long red hair and brown eyes stepped in. "She finally started walking two days ago", she smiled softly.

"Uncle Armin!", the toddler fussed to reach him, as Mikasa smiled and gently set her down. "Hey there little one", Armin smiled, as Carly hurried over, hugging him.

Seeing Carly was distracted with Armin, the redhead approached Mikasa, gently taking her hands. Her eyes expressed sympathy.

"I'm so sorry...about Sasha", she said, looking down. Mikasa's eyes softened, and the girls hugged close then.

"Thank you Rubi...", the dark haired girl whispered, her voice cracked.

Their lives have changed drastically, only one year ago exactly, Mikasa had given birth to a baby girl. She and Eren had shared a night 9 months prior.

During her pregnancy, they met with Rubi, who was originally a solider of the Garrison, but later became a medic and a midwife.

Mikasa had a mostly smooth pregnancy, and after 12 hours of hard labor, and a 25 minute delivery, she and Eren became parents to a healthy daughter.

Mikasa could still remember the day she told Eren the big news...

Year 852

It was a peaceful boat ride across the ocean for the trio, it had been another meeting with the Asian clan and discussing more about Historia and the plans.

Though at this point there wasn't much left to discuss. They were all about 17, and in about seven months they'd be 18, official adults.

Then again, in this world they were labeled adults the moment they graduated the Survey Corps at only 15 years old.

Armin looked out at the sea as the somewhat large boat was driven by Jean. Eren and Mikasa sat in the middle of it, facing each other.

Eren's hair was getting so much longer at this point, and even Mikasa's started to grow out long again. It had been short, chin length for so long, but now it was just long enough for her to sport a ponytail, a style Eren and Armin had never seen her wore before.

Even back when they were children and her hair was long, she never wore it like this. Armin's hair was still long as well.

The boat ride had mostly been quiet, but towards the end of it, Mikasa gently took Eren's hair. Eren looked at her, while she had some color in her cheeks.

"Mikasa...?", asked Eren softly. "Eren...I have to tell you something..", Mikasa started. She looked..almost nervous, appearing in a way Eren had never seen before.

Eren remained quiet, listening. Mikasa looked down, trying to figure out a way to say it. She then took a deep, somewhat shaky breath and pulled his hand forward.

Eren blinked, confusion over his features at fist, as she guided his hand to her stomach. She looked into his eyes, with a serious yet nervous expression, placing her hand over his on her abdomen.

"I'm...pregnant, Eren...", she revealed then. Eren's eyes widened, and his heart actually felt like it stopped for a moment as the news sunk in, he even turned a bit pale.

It was true he and Mikasa shared a night together about two months ago..after, in Armin's words, FINALLY confessing their feelings.

But...they had only did it once, during one night. One time is all it took though, especially if Mikasa was just as fertile as Kiyomi mentioned. Eren shuddered a bit, he hated how that woman spoke of Mikasa sometimes.

"Mikasa...", Eren sighed shakily, and gently pulled her closer. "I promise..I'll be here for you. For you..and our child", he assured her, holding her close, and stroking her hair.

Mikasa gave a shaky sigh of relief, hugging him back. "I love you Eren...", she whispered. "I love you too", Eren spoke softly.

Armin glanced at the two, having heard all of it. He frowned, giving Eren almost a...protective brother look. Armin always saw Mikasa as his sister after all.

Jean had gone dead silent, but decided not to say anything, despite his feelings.

Year 854

When Mikasa had to go on missions, Rubi babysat Carly and was her personal caretaker. Mikasa loved her daughter dearly, and hated having to leave her on every mission.

Eren also adored their child, he had been so worried the night of his wife's labor, for both of them. But now..with what he did, Mikasa was dreading her daughter's next question.

"Where's daddy?", Carly asked, after pulling away softly from Armin. Mikasa swallowed hard, as Armin also looked nervous.

"Daddy's on a trip sweetie..", Mikasa started slowly. Carly tilted her head. Mikasa knew her toddler was confused, since Eren's already been on a 'trip' in Marley for months.

"Mommy, you said Daddy was coming home...!", Carly insisted, looking upset. Mikasa's eyes softened as she knelt down at eye level with her child.

"I know baby, I know...but Daddy still has some things to tend to...he'll come home soon, I promise", Mikasa assured her.

Carly looked down sadly. "Hey...", Mikasa said, as Carly looked back up at her. "You know your daddy loves you, right Carly? We both love you very much", Mikasa reminded her.

Carly sniffled, as she cuddled into her mother. Mikasa lifted her child up, and gently sat on the sofa with her.

After about an hour, Carly drifted to sleep in Mikasa's lap.

"How much longer can you keep saying he's on a trip?", asked Rubi, biting her lip. "She's only 1, what on earth can I tell her?", Mikasa admitted.

"Mikasa...I know you...were sheltered as a child but...your mom wasn't a Scout, you can't keep Carly sheltered nearly that long", Armin started, carefully.

"I know that", Mikasa's voice went a bit deeper, protective of her one and only child.

"I know..I can't...but please...just let her be a child a little bit longer. It's already bad enough she'll have to grow up before she's even 12...I want her to at least have some kind of childhood, until she's at least 5...", she explained, softer.

Rubi gently rubbed the young mother's back. "How long is Jaeger supposed to stay in jail?", she asked. Armin gave an ironic chuckle. "Well technically, he can bust out at any time if he wanted to...he ate the War Hammer", he explained.

"But if he couldn't, then most likely a while...this isn't the first time Eren's pulled a rogue stunt, but it was certainly the worst...", he added.

"Bloody drunken idiot...", Rubi growled under her breath. It was no secret Rubi had become a bit of a big sister to Mikasa, and she didn't approve that much of Eren.

If Mikasa would have allowed it, Rubi would have kicked Eren out of the birthing room during when Carly was born.

"So what now?", the redhead asked. Armin suddenly looked somber. "Well..there's still one person who doesn't know about Sasha...", he said then.

Mikasa paled a bit suddenly, looking up. "Armin, you don't mean..", she started. "Historia wouldn't want to be kept in the dark about it...we haven't seen her in months...now would be the best time to visit", Armin replied.

"Armin, what are you saying?! This is the worst time...Historia's due any day", Mikasa reminded him, worriedly.

"The poor girl's about to pop, any sort of stress...telling her about Sasha could be bad for her health at this point", Rubi agreed with Mikasa.

"I know her pregnancy has been difficult, and her health has gotten worse...but she wouldn't want us to keep this from her. If anything, I think she'd be furious", Armin reasoned.

Mikasa and Rubi still felt unsure...it was Historia's first pregnancy...as ordered by Kiyomi. The father was a prince from Hizuru, there wasn't really a wedding, it was just jumped straight to conception.

But Historia's pregnancy was anything but smooth. Unlike Mikasa, who had a fairly healthy and easy pregnancy, someone like Historia who is much smaller and weaker had suffered every pregnancy complication possible and known.

Low blood pressure, bladder infections, unusually hard back aches, dizzy spells, and a very low pain tolerance for practice contractions.

Because of how hard her pregnancy was, she was practically bed ridden at this point, being 9 months along and due any second.

"We should just go see her...we'll decide about breaking the news, but we should visit her", Mikasa sighed then, after a few moments.

"Rubi, do you mind watching Carly again? We'll only be gone overnight", she asked then. "You know I don't mind, Miki...Carly's like my niece", the redhead assured her close friend kindly.

By the following day, Mikasa, Armin, Connie, and Jean had left to go visit Historia in the county side. They had arrived by early afternoon.

After knocking on the door, the guard answered. "We're here to see Historia", Armin said. "Come in..", the guard opened the door, letting them into the cabin.

In the living room, by the lit fireplace, Historia was resting on the couch. Her back was propped by pillows, her hands cupping her swollen stomach.

She had dark circles under her eyes, and she looked pale. But despite her exhausted state, she looked happy to see some old friends.

"Mikasa, Armin, Connie, Jean, I missed you all", she smiled, her voice sounded so weak. "It's been a while, hasn't it?", Armin gave a kind smile, as the group took seats in the living room with her.

"You've gotten so big, Historia, how are you feeling?", Mikasa asked softly. "I've had better days...but I'm hanging in there. I'm glad I didn't get as big as you did, Mikasa", Historia replied.

Mikasa smiled a bit, recalling when she was pregnant with Carly, she had gotten so big, there was some concern she was carrying twins.

But in the end, it turned out to just be Carly, she was 9 lbs at birth.

There was a short pause, and then Historia sighed softly, looking down. "I...heard about Sasha", she said then.

The room had turned tense, Mikasa paled while Armin swallowed hard. "I am Queen after all..I get word of that stuff...", Historia explained.

"We were going to tell you, we just...", Jean started, nervously. "We didn't exactly want to send you into labor...", Armin added.

"I know, I'm not angry...I just...", Historia looked down sadly, as tears appeared in her eyes. "Historia...", Mikasa gently reached out her hand, and Historia took it.

"I just...out of anyone...it was Sasha...I never would have...imagined it be Sasha in a million years...", the queen admitted grimly.

"I don't think any of us did...", Armin confessed, looking down. "Was she buried...?", Historia asked, wiping her eyes.

"Yesterday morning...", Mikasa replied, quietly. "Could...you all stay here? Just for the night?", asked Historia softly then.

"Of course", Mikasa assured. "That was the plan anyway", Armin added.

That night, when it was a bit late, things were quiet. Armin was out on the porch keeping watch, while Jean and Connie had retired to bed.

Mikasa was keeping Historia company in the living room. "How's Carly been? I'm sure she's growing so fast", Historia asked.

Mikasa smiled softly, as she sipped her tea. "She's growing like a weed...she's started to walk, and she learns new words every day", she replied.

Historia smiled softly, seeing how happy Mikasa appeared when talking about her daughter. It was a side of Mikasa Historia rarely, if ever saw.

"What's it like...being a mom? I've never seen you beam as much as you do when we talk about her", admitted Historia.

Mikasa's eyes softened. "There's..nothing quite like it. After I had Carly...despite the fact everything else is going to hell around me...despite the world is falling apart...I felt...a new happiness I had never felt before...", she started.

"Even though things are getting worse by the day..knowing I have a daughter, a child to return home to...knowing that she's safe...it gives me a stronger will to fight, and survive...it gives my life a new purpose...", she said.

Historia's eyes softened. "You're an amazing mother, Mikasa...", she said. Mikasa looked at Historia, with a look of sympathy, knowing of the Queen's childhood.

"You'll be a wonderful mother too, Historia. I know it", she assured. Historia looked down softly, rubbing her swollen belly. "I hope so...I want to be a loving parent to him or her...", she admitted.

"You will be Historia", Mikasa promised her, squeezing her hand softly. Historia looked down, when suddenly the door burst open, causing both girls to jump.

"Mikasa! Historia! We got a problem!", Armin said, looking frantic. Mikasa stood up, and hurried over to the door.

She went to glance out, but she flinched back when a gunshot was heard, and a bullet fired, missing her by inches and hitting the cabin's outside wall.

She quickly took cover inside behind the wall. "It's Warriors from Marley, they must be looking for Gabi and Falco...", Armin realized.

"Why would they be looking here?!", Jean asked, as he and Connie, along with the guard hurried over. "Its possible the two escaped their cells...", Mikasa said.

Historia felt her heart began to race, as another gunshot was heard, and suddenly the glass in the window behind the couch busted.

Glass shards flew everywhere, as Mikasa suddenly sprinted over, shielding Historia from the falling glass.

The guard pointed his own rifle out the doorway and shot at the Marleys. "Are you girls all right?!", Armin asked, as Mikasa kept Historia shielded.

"We're fine...", Mikasa replied, luckily neither were harmed by the glass. Historia was grimacing for a second, as if she was in pain but then she opened her eyes, trembling badly,

"Mikasa, you have to get me out of here...", she pleaded then, terrified.
