"Susannah, We cannot do this. We cannot be together. It would never work." I tell her. Wanting her, yet at the same time, trying to keep her away from me."
"It could. Don't you see that, Jesse? We Could make it work." She says back to me.
"I could never go with you anywhere in public. You need someone who can hold you and comfort you." I say, trying to stay on top of the argument.
"But you can. Only You," She states.
*But where's the prize
I have my eyes on?

I give into weakness. I kiss her. Oh I cannot help but kiss her. I know I shouldn't, but She's so alluring. "It cannot be."I start, but she puts her finger to my lips.

"Do you want to love someone who you can only love in the privacy of your own bedroom? Do you want people to think something is wrong with you because you never go out with anyone?"

"We would not be able to go to your school dances together. We would not be able to get married." I say trying to convince her one last time.
"Oh we can get married alright. You forget that our good mediating friend, Father Dom, is a priest. We can get married we just wont be able to share it with people who don't know about you.
