This was another prompt word, Kiss, that I did for my prompt challenge over at my forum. It's short, but I wanted to do my take on their kiss that should have happened even though it's very, very short. But sometimes all you need to do is get right down to the point.
I hope you like and feedback is always appreciated.
...
The impact was hard knocking the yellow ranger off her feet, distracted by what almost happened earlier that she didn't see the pair of arms snatch her up before she hit the floor.
"Dillon…" She said, when their eyes met.
He helped her steady herself on her feet. "Be more careful." He smiled, his arms still lingering around her waist.
She was crushed against his chest feeling his heart beat on the palms of her hands. "Sorry." She blushed, looking away. "Distraction and walking not a good combination."
Dillon snickered under his breath. There was a small part of him that knew what the distraction was because even him, he was caught up in the thought of the possible too.
The thought invaded him like the virus that coursed through his veins. Dillon couldn't stop thinking about her or the almost kiss that should have happened.
There was a long pause.
"Summer…" Her name rolled off his tongue, his breath caught in his chest. Dillon didn't know what else to say. What else could he say? It'd go against his bad boy exterior if he came out and said that the yellow ranger made him vulnerable.
"Yes Dillon?" Summer turned and looked into his eyes, hope lingering in their depths.
"I…" He felt the pull towards her, he couldn't stop himself from wanting to kiss her. She drove him crazy, always trying to save him. When he pushed, she pulled and she never gave up on him.
When he said nothing or did nothing, Summer couldn't wait anymore. When there was a moment that she thought he was going to pull away and leave her, she grabbed a hold of his arm. There was no hesitation as she kissed him.
