Once upon a time, in a faraway land, there lived a handsome prince in a beautiful huge castle.
His name was Hans Westergard, and although he had everything he wanted in life, he was spoiled, selfish, and cruel.
But then one cold winter night, there came an old beggar woman, who offered him a single orange rose in exchange for shelter for the night. Hans was appalled by her hag-like face, and turned her away, but she warned him that he shouldn't be decieved by appearances, for true beauty comes from within.
Again he dismissed her, and the beggar woman turned into a beautiful, yet frightening enchantress, named Elsa. the prince tried to apologize but Elsa had seen enough...
There was no love in his heart.

As punishment for his cruelty, Elsa turned him into a hideous wolf-like beast, and released a powerful permanent blizzard on his castle, and turned all his servants into living inanimate objects.
Dusters, wardobes, candles, chairs, grandfather clocks and teapots and many more!
Ashamed of his monstrous form, Hans hid himself in the castle for all time, with only a mirror as his window to the outside world.
The rose she had offered, and left with him, was truly an enchanted rose. It would bloom until his twenty-first year. If he could learn to love another, and earn her love in return, the spell would be broken, but if he failed to find a young girl who would love him for who he was not what he looked like by the time the last orange rose petal fell, he would remain a beast forever.
As the time came closer for the last petal to fall,Hans fell into dispair and lost all hope...

For who could ever love a beast?
