Ty entered the loft and said "Caleb and Cassandra will be here in 30 minutes. " Amy said "Great I hope they like beef stew."
Amy and Ty were having their first dinner guests in the renovated loft. As Ty took a shower Amy made sure everything in their new home was just perfect.
Ty said "I expect you and Cassandra will have a great deal to discuss." Amy said "There is just so much going on between work, the bridal shower and wedding." Caleb had proposed to Cassandra several months ago and Amy and Ty were asked to be maid of honor and best man.
After they enjoyed their dinner, Caleb, Cassandra, Ty and Amy settled down to watch a movie on Netflix. Soon after the movie began Ty's phone rang. He answered and was surprised to hear his mother's voice since the last he knew she was in rehab. "Ty" his mom said "How are you and Amy doing?" When he realized who he was talking to he said "We are doing well. Amy is working at Heartland and I have been working with Scott at the clinic." Amy looked at Ty and wondered who he was talking to. Ty took a brief moment to tell Amy who he was talking to.
Lily said "We are sorry that we missed the wedding. Wade and I would like to come to see both of you." Since he had long forgiven his mom and Wade for what had happened in the past he said "Amy and I would like it very much if you would come. You could stay at the dude ranch since our loft is quite small."
"Would this weekend be ok with you and Amy? " Lily asked. Ty asked Amy if his mom and Wade could visit next weekend. Amy said "Next weekend would be great." She wanted to spend more time with Ty's mom and Wade and get to know them more.
After hanging up the phone Amy, Ty, Caleb and Cassandra resumed watching the movie.
When Lou heard that Ty's mom and Wade would be visiting she suggested that they have a party. Amy said "That would be great. Nothing too big just family and possibly a few friends—Caleb, Cassandra and Scott."
On Friday afternoon Lily and Wade arrived at Heartland and were taken to the dude ranch to get settled. That evening Amy prepared dinner and the four of them spent time visiting. Wade said "After Lily was discharged from rehab we moved to Edmonton and were fortunate to both find jobs. We would really like it if you came to visit in the near future." Both Ty and Amy liked this idea.
At dinner Friday evening Ty had a suggestion. "I took my father's ashes to spread them at Eagle Lake. I really would like it if we could all take a short trip to the lake again." Since Ty did not take Amy when he went before Amy said "That would be a great trip to take." His mom and Wade were on board with the idea. Recalling his accident on the last trip Ty said "This time I won't crack up and wind up in the hospital."
On Saturday morning they loaded their food and gear into Ty's truck and took a relaxing ride to Eagle Lake. They spent two days at the lake and were enjoying each other's company. Ty told his mom and Wade "We are glad you are doing well and we have come to the conclusion that you both have your priorities in order. Things have not been great between us in the past but what happened then will have no effect on where we go from here," Everyone seconded Ty's statement.
On their last night at the lake all four were sitting around a campfire when Amy said "These past two days have been wonderful for Ty and me. I have something to tell Ty and you that I hope will make this trip more memorable. I went to the doctor's earlier this week. I found out what I already knew—Ty and I are expecting a baby. Ty didn't know what to say at this news but reached over to give Amy a kiss and said "Amy Borden you never cease to amaze me." Lily and Wade were equally happy to know that they would be grandparents.
When they returned to Heartland and Amy told the rest of the family her news everyone was excited. The next day Lily and Wade said their goodbyes and promised that they would visit again real soon
