One shot.
Sent to Coates, Taylor.
Taylor stared at herself in front of the mirror. Since hitting fifth grade, she became more aware of her appearance. She had a sunny personality, but a quick temper, seeming to bounce between the two sides all the time. Her hair was long and dark. She had gotten red streaks last week. She thought they looked cool, but her mom hated them. Her eyes were a dark brown. She wished they were a different color, but her mom wouldn't let her get contacts to change the color.
Today was the first day of seventh grade. She had to make a good impression on the teachers, and the new classmates. Sixth grade had been at the lower school, so she was moving into middle school now. She pulled out a planned outfit. A pleated black skirt, white tank top, maroon half sleeve sweater, made of a light material, and black socks that went over the knee. She pulled the skirt up so it just went four inches down the knee. Her socks almost reached the hem, a style she had recently picked up. She pulled the top half of her hair back and slipped on her maroon converse.
She walked downstairs.
"Taylor, pull that skirt down." Her mom said, placing a pile of bacon and toast in front of her.
"It's fine. This is a lot of food." Taylor wrinkled her nose.
"You are getting to skinny. Eat it all." Her mom snapped, slamming a glass of orange juice in front of her.
"Okay!" Taylor waved her hands, putting the bacon between the pieces of bread, and eating it. She gulped down the juice and wiped her mouth on a napkin.
She raced upstairs and brushed her teeth. She tossed her makeup bag into her backpack. Her mom always made her wash it off, so she kept it off until school. She also pulled her skirt down two inches, just until she got to school.
The bus pulled up in front of her house and the horn was beeping.
"Bye!" Taylor shouted, slamming the door so her mom would know she wasn't happy.
She raced down the driveway and got on the bus. "Lay off the horn!" She snapped at the bus driver, loving the power she felt as the most popular and the teachers' favorite. She walked to the back of the bus, readjusting her skirt. She sat in the last seat. The only other person sat in the middle, reading a book. Taylor rolled her eyes and took out her compact, doing her makeup. By the next bus stop she was done.
A girl with blonde hair, platinum blonde hair, and icy blue eyes got on. She had on a black skirt, that reached three inches down her thigh. A tight green sweater with half sleeves. Black socks that reached over the knee. Black boots, that had a steel toe. She had her hair tied back in a french braid that came over her right shoulder. She was obviously one of the girl's Taylor would hang out with.
They became quick friends. They also had a reputation around the school. Even some eighth graders were scared of the power the two girls had. They spread rumors as quick as possible, ruined people's lives. A lot of people were fearing for next year, when they really would be at the top. They went through boys in weeks, invited girls to be their friends, then ruined their middle school years.
When Taylor's mom got called in, she had the final straw. At the start of the next school year, Taylor texted the girl saying she would be at Coates. The girl texted back, calling her a whore and saying to find some guys for her to pick up. Taylor was still bad at Coates, but there was worse. Like Diana, a year ahead of her, who hung out with Drake and Caine. Drake was reserved for the slut she left back at home.
Taylor was at Coates. Taylor got the power. Now, Taylor was a reptile. Life catches up, and it's revenge is probably the worst. The blonde girl had been sent to Coates, now she was dead, dying of hunger. Life catches up. It ain't pretty, but you can't exactly outrun it.
