AN: TVD is not mine, this fanfiction is simply because I get bored easily. Written for a word prompt, my word: Burn. Takes place during 2x20 The Last DayKatherine's Point of ViewKatherine was pouring coffee, simply enjoying the quiet day, when she heard Klaus enter the room. She turned around and saw him with a dangerous look on his face. He walked over to her, and looked her into the eyes. She tried to pretend she wasn't nervous.
"Everything okay?" she asked casually.
There was a brief pause that seemed longer than it was. Klaus stared into her eyes for a while. "What have you been doing?" he demanded, not answering her question.
Katherine shrugged. "Making coffee," she answered simply and innocently. She looked at the pot. "Do you want some?"
In a millisecond, Klaus ran over to her in a blur, and before she knew it, Klaus had her by the throat. He picked her up, and Katherine was gasping for air as he choked her.
He looked her into the eyes as he held her up. "Tell me what you've been doing."
Katherine was still gasping for air. "Making coffee," she managed to choke out.
Klaus took a moment and looked into each of her eyes before letting her down. As soon as Katherine made contact with the floor, she held her own neck and gasped for air. She turned from him not only out of anger, but of fear.
"Wait," he ordered, and Katherine stopped. She turned to face him slowly. "Take off your bracelet." She went over to him, took off her bracelet and dropped it in his out stretched hand.
"Now," he began. "I want you, to walk over to the window, and stand in the sunlight."
Katherine stared at him in disbelief as he told her to do this. "But, I'll burn," she protested.
"You don't have a choice."
Feeling trapped and betrayed, Katherine did as she was compelled to do, and slowly, headed over to the window where there was a patch of sunlight.
The instant the sunlight fell on her, she felt burns begin to form on her skin. She let out a scream as the burning pain overcame her. The sunlight became more and more hot on her skin, and she continued to scream. This seemed to go on forever, but it couldn't have been more than a few seconds.
"That's enough," Klaus said finally. As soon as he did, Katherine launched herself into the dark corner of the room, keeping out of the sunlight. She stared at him angrily and betrayed.
"Guess I was wrong," he said, and Katherine had to hold herself back from launching herself at him. Instead, she just sunk farther into the corner.
"Alright, then." He headed over to her, and Katherine couldn't help but feel envious as he easily walked across the patch of sunlight. "I need you to do something for me."
