A/N: My first Harry Potter one-shot/drabble in a while. I only wrote this because I'm trying to write head canons for my Harry Potter page and I needed practice because I haven't written anything Harry Potter related in a while. :)
Hope you enjoy!
I don't own Harry Potter, J.K. Rowling does. :)

Selfless

"Sev, you're never going to find a girlfriend if your hair stays like this," Lily said, taking a handful of his greasy, lank hair. She giggled, dropping it from her hand, and then rubbing her hand down her robes. "Come here, I've got something that may help!" She grabbed hold of his hand and starting pulling him towards Professor Slughorn's classroom, Snape's robes billowing behind him as the wind blew through the draughty dungeon corridors.

Lily pulled out her wand as soon as she opened the door, uttering, "Accio, cauldron!" A cauldron flew from the corner of the room, disturbing the gathering dust that had surrounded it. Next, she ran to the cupboard, filling her arms with jars and plants, and then carried them to the nearest table. "Come on, Sev, what are you waiting for?" she called, looking at the long-haired boy who was leant against the door frame.

He stepped into the room, wondering what Lily was planning to do. He was worried for a moment when he saw the devious look on her face, and said, "Lily, I'm fine."

"Sev, don't lie to me. Just you watch, this'll help, I promise." She smiled, her green eyes meeting his black ones, and Snape was captivated. His heart ached with adoration as he slowly nodded, agreeing to whatever she had in mind.

He watched her hands move to and fro over the several viles and bottles expertly, her face never losing the concentration that it held. She bit her lip slightly as she pushed her fringe out of her face, watching the smoke erupt from the cauldron as she added another vile of liquid in.

"Just a little bit of this... and a handful of that," she murmured under her breath, her fingers picking up the ingredient and tearing it to shreds, slowly adding it to the potion.

Snape merely watched her in amazement; his black eyes following her every movement. This is why he loved Lily. She was so caring and thoughtful, always thinking about him rather than herself. And from that moment on, Snape pledged to himself that he would do whatever he could to make Lily proud of him.

A/N: So there you have it, the end. :)
Again, I hope you liked it, and please review! :D
