Prologue

She was running as fast as she could to get away from the enemies of her parents. She, along with her two best friends by her side, were doing whatever it took to survive. Her parents had lived and fought in a war, so would she. Rain was coming down fast, as spells came flying by her head, meant to inflict much pain as possible, and kill as a result.

Her best friends Aiden and Teddy, were on either side of her, protecting her, sheltering her from harm, like they've always done. "POTTER!" She quickly turned and found Dolohov and a couple of low ranking death eaters chasing after them, and she knew that Dolohov had a axe to grind because of her parents. She had heard the stories of how Harry Potter and his friends had stormed the Department of Mysteries in their fifth year to save his godfather Sirius Black from Voldemort.

She knew that the enemy was after this prophecy regarding their dark lord and the boy who lived, and their bound pasts, present, and futures. She knew that was why Harry and his loyal friends were there that day. To get this prophecy, and to save the last remaining member of Harry's family. If she closed her eyes, she could picture the battle the stories told, come alive in her mind. Harry fighting against Lucius Malfoy, as the rest of the death eaters had hold of his friends. One friend in particular, with her bushy hair, and intelligent mind, would soon become the one Harry would love the most.

That's why, from what she had heard, Harry had given over the prophecy to Malfoy, to protect his friends. But chaos ensued when the order of the phoenix stormed the department of mysteries, and the fighting had begun. Potter against Malfoy, and cousin against cousin, as Sirius fought Bellatrix, her twisted smile luring Sirius unto his death.

But it all ended in tragedy. Sirius was killed, going through the veil, and Harry was devastated to realize that he had lost his last family member. And Hermione Granger. Harry Potter's best friend had been attacked with a very vicious curse by Dolohov, that rendered her unconscious. Miraculously she had survived, but not without scars. After that battle, everything the friends knew had changed. The war was coming, and it was not going to stop until one side won, and depending on who's side won, would the world stay in perpetual chaos, or will it finally end in peace?

For her though, she knew that the war was over for them, but for her the war was just getting started. "Your parents can't help you now, blood traitor. I remember when I fought against your filthy mud blood mother, and you have no idea how much I would enjoy the idea of killing her. Now at least, I get to kill the mud blood's daughter as revenge." She was hiding ironically in the department of mysteries with Aiden and Teddy, because here would cause the least damage, with all the ministry workers still here. "Come out, come out, where ever you are. I will find you."

She raised her eyes to her boys, and she could feel the love and friendship coming from both of them. They were her protectors. Her confidants. They were her safe place when she needed it. In truth, they were her soul. Her heart. Her life. She couldn't imagine life without them in it. "Let's do this. If we die, we die together." Their eyes seemed to say to each other. Right at this moment, they were no longer fifteen and sixteen year olds. They were adults who were fighting to stay alive, so they could have a better future.

As one, the trio rose, made sure that they had their wands in hand, and came out of hiding. Dolohov took one look at them with their wands raised, and starting laughing. "Do you honestly think you can stop me?" She stepped away from the boys, and Dolohov, quickly sobered up now that his target, was right in front of him. "I'm not an innocent little girl you believe me to be, Dolohov. If I need to, I will kill. Do not underestimate me, simply because I am the same age as when you fought against my parents all those years ago."

Teddy and Aiden was circling their own opponents, while still keeping an eye on the young woman they have both come to love. Dolohov gave her a cruel smile. "You have the arrogance of your father, and the false sense of superiority that intelligence you have inside your mud blood mother gave you. Both will get you killed. And today is that day." "Do you know you sound like a really bad 60's villain? I mean, really. Get some new material." To say Dolohov was angry would be an understatement. His face was red with anger, and despite wanting to toy with the little tart for a while, his patience was non existent right about now.

Dolohov quickly raised his wand, and started to say.. "AVADA...", when she lifted her own wand, pointed it and yelled CRUCIO as loud as she could. She knew it was an unforgivable, but this was war, and she would do whatever it takes to survive. She watched at the man fought against the curse and the pain, and she knew that it could not last forever. Out of her peripheral, she could see that Aiden and Teddy were holding their own against death eaters twice their age. And Dolohov saw this as an advantage. He finally broke hold of the spell, and sent his own Crucio at the girl, and she fell over in pain.

I will not scream. I will not scream. She repeatedly said inside her mind. She would not give him the satisfaction. It felt like a thousand tiny needles digging themselves into her skin, her skin felt like fire, and she just wanted it all to end. She faintly heard The boys telling her to fight it, to stay strong. But for her it was one of the hardest things she'd ever do. She could hear footsteps coming closer to her, and that's when the pain got worse. "I wish I could see the faces of your pathetic parents, as I kill their beloved half blood daughter."

She could still feel the spell attacking her, which meant he was in no way done with her just yet. "But that would ruin all my fun. I have a better plan for you my dear." As much as it hurt to do it, she slowly opened her eyes, and the sight before her hurt her heart. Teddy and Aiden, were being held at wand point, a gash on Teddy's forehead, blood running down his cheek. Aiden's right eye was swollen shut, he had a split lip, and bruised knuckles from what she could see from her view.

"GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM HER!" Teddy yelled as he fought against his attacker, which earned him a rough punch in the stomach, that him bowled over, but still trying to get to her, to stop whatever Dolohov had in mind for her. She knew whatever Dolohov had in store for her was not good. What was worse is the feeling she got, that whatever happened, he was going to make her friends watch.

The torture finally stopped, and all she could do was twitch, and look into Teddy's eyes, as Dolohov bent down, threw her wand away from her and cast an imbolous spell on her. He wanted her to feel everything, but not being able to do a damn thing to stop it from happening. Clever bastard. She just focused on Teddy, and his tear filled eyes, as Dolohov began to tear away the right sleeve of her shirt with a knife he had pulled out of nowhere.

And the pain filled realization hit as he drew the knife across her skin, that he was planning to carve something onto her arm. And she knew what word it would be. This would be the ultimate revenge against the savior's of the wizarding world. It would be a simple but cruel reminder that nobody is ever truly safe. And to the death eaters, she was the perfect person to carry the message to the boy who lived, and the brightest witch of her age.

Once Dolohov was done, he stood back up, and simply admired his beautiful work of art. The girl's skin was red as the blood on her arm. The block letters standing out against the pale skin, spelling out a word that truly would cripple his enemies once again. MUDBLOOD...

Truly fitting for the girl laying on the floor in front of him. After all, it was everything her parents had fought against with their childhood, well into becoming adults. He turned and casually watched the reactions of the boys that came with her. They were crying, tears flowing down their cheeks, as they tried unsuccessfully to get to the girl.

"GET AWAY FROM THEM!" She lifted her eyes away from the boys, and their stood their savior, his raven black hair, beautiful emerald green eyes, and wire rimmed glasses, the most welcomed sight she had ever wanted to see. And the silhouette of her father, was the last thing she saw before her world turned black.
