AN/ Another one-shot for JJ/Morgan
You don't need to have read Typical day to understand this one, although it's a sequel.
Let me know what you think in a review ! ;p
The wail of a three-week-old baby woke her up. She grunted sleepily, and tried to get inside the pillow, desperate for some sleep. A couple seconds later, the baby's twin' cries were heard inside their house, which woke their Daddy.
"It's your turn." She said, though she wasn't really awake. The new father grunted as he got up, put on a shirt and left their bedroom. He headed for the nursery. They had decided early in the pregnancy that they would try and let the twins as much together as possible. They wanted their kids to get along and to have a special bond. Once he got there, he took his daughter in his arms and led her to the changing table. Then he went down to the kitchen and grabbed a bottle. He heated it up, and got settled in a chair to feed his baby. His little boy upstairs was already back to sleep, just like every other night. But, although his boy was pretty easy during night time, it was an entirely different story durnig the day.
When his girl finished her bottle, he waited until she burped, then walked back up the stairs and went to put her back in bed. Except, she had other ideas and starting crying as soon as he got them close to her crib. Not wanting to awake her brother, the daddy of two quickly decided that for tonight, his little princess would sleep in her parents' room. He was way too tired to even try and get her to sleep in her own room. So, he left the room and headed towards the master bedroom. Once there, he saw his wife sound asleep, just like when he had left her, not even a half hour before. He smiled and slowly put the infant in the middle of the bed, before getting settled himself. He wrapped his arms around the two women of his life and pray that his son wouldn't wake up and join them. The bed was big, but a little space didn't hurt.
A few hours later, it was their son's cries that woke both parents up. Their little girl was still sound asleep, quietly lying between them. This time it was Mommy who got up to gather her son in her arms and making her way back in her room, where she knew her little girl would wake up soon.
"So, Rick, who do you think will wake up first? Daddy or Sarah?" She asked her son, who happily babbled his answer. "Oh, you think so? Well, I think Daddy will be up first. After all, we need him to look after you and your sister while I cook for all your aunts and uncles." She smiled down at her family and went to start her day. Once Rick had eaten, she put him down in his park with his toys, got ready herself. Since she was more of a morning person than her husband, it was natural that she would take care of her baby boy who was always the first awake in their house. Then, when Sarah woke up, she carried her down the stairs, hoping to let their Daddy catch more sleep. Having twins was pretty exhausting. Once both her babbies were settled in their park, babbling to each other, she quickly went to wake up their father.
"Derek, wake up Daddy." When she got no answer, she decided to use a more direct technique. She stealthly walked up to him and mercilessly tickled him. "Wake up! Your kids are waiting for you downstairs."
"Fine, okay. Stop! I'll go."
She smiled and made her way to the bathroom.
"I love you , Jen."
"Love you too."
Derek went downstairs and got some breakfast. Then he went to sit with his two kids and played with them. He didn't hear JJ walking back into the living-room. She watched them for a couple minutes, thinking to herself that her life was pretty perfect. She had a loving husband, two wonderful kids, and an amazing work family. Family that was coming to their house to have a get-together lunch today.
"Hey Derek, you should go get ready. Penelope told me she would be here soon, and once she's here, we won't be able to sneak away." They shared a kiss before he left her with their kids. Everything was ready for the team's arrival, and they just had to dress the twins. JJ had brought two sets of cloths and set to dress Sarah. Never an easy task as the little girl always tried to slip off of her mother's lap, happy to see she was creating a mess. Rick, on the other hand, was glad to be held and let JJ put some pants on him, along with a simple tee, a gift from Garcia.
A little while after, as the kids were back to playing in their park, while their parents were setting the table, the doorbell rang, announcing that someone had arrived. Derek went to open the door and found himself engulfed in a tight hug that could only mean that it was Penelope.
"Hey Baby Girl !"
"I missed you ! The BAU is not the same without you two there." Before Derek had a chance to reply, Garcia was gone and already cooing to her niece and nephew, dropping a "Hey Jayje" on her way to the park.
"Hi Penelope." JJ smiled, looking at her friend as Derek joined her and placed a hand on the small of her back. Just then, someone else came to their door. Apparently, they had car-pooled, as the whole team was standing there. Hotch had even brought Jack along.
After everyone said their 'hellos', they went to join Garcia, Rick and Sarah. The twins seemed really excited to see all those people. They already knew them as they had spent at least a day with each one of them, and weren't shy to go and play with them. The team caught up with their two fellow team mates who were currently on parental leave. Because of budget cuts, they only got one agent to replace them, and so they had an waful oad of work, but they managed okay. It was about that moment that Garcia dropped the bombshell.
"So, when are you two going to give us more nephews or nieces ?" She smiled sweetly at them, absent-mindedly playing with Sarah who was sitting on her lap.
JJ and Morgan both blushed a bright shade of red, and it was Derek who answered. "Uh, we haven't really talked much about it, but right now, we're really happy with just those two."
Penelope started pouting when Rossi spoke up, "Penelope, didn't you promise not to ask that kind of thing ?"
"I know" She whinned, "But little Derek and little JJ are looking so cute !" This time she really had a pout on, much like Rick who was trying to get his father's attention. Derek picked him up, only to get his ear pulled by tiny fingers.
"Penelope, give them a break."Hotch smiled. "You don't know how exhausting it is to have a baby, let alone two. Besides, if they have another baby, they'll be gone even more from the BAU." That was the selling point, as Garcia stopped and got her full attention back on 'little JJ', as she called her.
Rick had crawled out of Derek's hold, and was now playing with Jack. Seeing that, Sarah tried to join them but had trouble getting out of Garcia's grasp. She finally got off, she went to play with the boys. The adults ate their lunch, enjoying to be all together a little longer before finally deciding to leave the young parents to take care of their prince and princess. Reid and Garcia lingered for a while, offering their friends a small break from parenthood. Once everyone was gone, the house felt eerily quiet. The kids were worn out, and they fell asleep quickly, leaving JJ and Derek some alone-time, just the two of them. They were watching TV, just enjoying the feel of eachother's arms around them.
Yeah, life IS pretty perfect. JJ thought.
