The first memory I remember... I was about two, maybe three... I tried to kill my little brother. He never had a chance against me, but it never worked. Father walked by and saved him. He led me back to my bedroom and murmured to me, "That never happened."

As we got older, I seemed to never exist, unless he needed me. I would watch him sleep, soundly, trying to think of ways to kill him. Struck by lightning, or perhaps poison his dreams or food. The list goes on.

At the end of it all, I didn't kill him. At least, that's what I told myself.

He did it all by himself...

Yugi

Teenagers my age have learned what sex is or isn't. You'd also think guys only one thing. I'm not one of them. I'm not a normal guy. I've been in and out of hospitals more times than I have been dating. Why, you might ask? My older brother, Yami, has acute promyelocytic leukemia. I'm his person who he goes to for help-blood, bone marrow-you name it, I've given it to him... More or less. I'm his perfect match, or donor, or just an extra body. I've never been on date, maybe once, and it was only for a week. The girl was scared to be near my brother, and ditched me at the movies.

I walked downstairs and put on my shoes, smiling that no one else is up yet, and walk outside to find the closest pawn shop. Only two blocks away, from where I live. I run so that I make it back before my parents, or my brothers, wake up. No one knows that I've done this, and I hope that no one finds out about this. I found the pawn shop, and I walk in, catching my breath. I tightly hold onto my ring that my father gave me when I turned 13.

"Good morning. How can I help you?" The older gentleman asked me-from behind the counter-as I nodded.

I put the ring on the table. "How much for this, sir?" I politely asked him as he looked at it through a loupe.

Even though I'm not in a good mood, I still respect my elders. He looks at it for a bit and puts it back down on to the counter.

"I'll take twenty."

"Yen?"

"No, dollars young boy! What did you think?"

"It's worth five times that!" I cried out.

"I'm not the one who needs the money, eh?"

He made a good point as I sighed and take the money. At least I got something out of it. I walked with the twenty in my pocket, feeling a little richer, and ran back home. Heck, no one might even notice I've left.

Making it home, I shut the door, take my shoes off and lay on the couch. I turn on the TV as I see Yami walk into the kitchen with our dad not too far behind.

"Do you want some pancakes?" I hear dad ask Yami.

"Yes. Maybe Yugi and Atemu would want some."

I feel so grateful... I was included into a conversation. Last night, Yami was going through something last night-a temper tantrum, or perhaps a seizure-but no one tells me, unless they need to. Mom was up all night with Yami, anyways. That's why she's not even up yet. She's exhausted. I'm still sleepy, thanks to him.

"I'll ask them." I hear footsteps as Yami shakes my shoulders. "Did I keep you up last night?"

I swear that he can read my mind. It's like we have this bond that he knows about and that I don't. Honestly, I don't want a bond like that with him.

"I'm just..." I shake my head. "A little sleepy..." I cue a yawn as Yami smiles.

"Well, then, do you want some pancakes, Yugi?" I nod as I see Yami silently text Atemu.

Atemu is the oldest brother, making Yami the middle child and me the youngest. Yami was only 2, and Atemu was 6, when Yami was diagnosed. I might look like my brothers, but there are certain differences between us all. I'm much shorter than Yami and Atemu. And my eye color is nowhere near Yami's, Atemu's, or my parents. Long ago, before I was born, Yami needed a donor. Atemu wasn't a match, and they decided to have little old me. Problem was that in order to have the perfect donor, my dad's seed had to mix with a certain type of gene and injected into my mom. Nine months later, I, Yugi Mutou was born. Mom figured that I would look more like my dad, but 15 years later, I'm 5 feet tall and have bright amethyst eyes. Yami and Atemu? Over 5 feet 8 inches, and have dark purple eyes. Same type of color, but a different shade.

Yeah, sometimes, I do think life is really unfair.

After breakfast, I go to my bedroom and pull out my secret stash. Including my 20 dollars I got today, I have saved about 210 dollars and 70 cents. How? I sell what I can without my parents knowing that it has disappear. I'm sure that Yami knows about my money stash-because I saw him sneaking in here 3 years ago-but he hasn't told anyone anything yet. I decide to make a haste decision and went to find Atemu. He's the only one with a car, other than mom and dad, and I need to go into another town.

I slowly walk into the abandoned garage as I heard music playing from upstairs.

Aerosmith. I thought as I saw Atemu writing something down as I turned the music down.

"Sorry!" He turned to face me as he shrugged. "But I need to go to Roseburg. Will you take me?"

"I guess, but why?"

I tilted my head, slightly, to him. "I have to do an interview, for my school's paper, about what life is like for an attorney."

Okay, I lied. Oh, well.

"Yeah. Let's go in a few minutes." I nod as I leave the garage and went to my room, to get the money.

Finally! This is gonna happen!

"Dad! I'm going with Atemu to Roseburg. We're gonna see the new park."

"Okay." He called back as Yami poked his head above his book, Pride and Prejudice.

"Can you take pictures and-"

I shut the door before he could finish. Atemu waved to me as I walked to the other side of the car. My dream is finally going to happen.

I opened the double doors of the courthouse. I went through a metal detector and searched for the attorney named... I grabbed the business card that I took from mom, when I want to make something long ago, and kept it since.

Seto Kaiba, Defense Attorney

For when the rules get screwed,

I'll get you your money.

Office-51 Main Street Roseburg, KY

(859)-692-1712

Not a very creative ending, but whatever. His name does the slide off the tongue easily. I shake my head as I approach his secretary's desk.

"Yes, he's in a meeting... I'll tell him as soon as he comes back. No problem." She hangs up the phone and glances at me.

"I take it Mister Kaiba isn't in..."

"You're right-"

"I need to talk to him. It's very important."

"Well..." I gave her a puppy-dog pout.

"Please."

She nods and points to the door on her left. "Go on in. He'll be in there in a little bit."

I sighed as I heard footsteps. I look down at my watch.

Ten minutes. That's not too long.

I heard the door open up as I stay quiet as he murmured stuff like, "I need a drink," and "I need to get a re-trial." He stopped speaking as he turned to face me.

"Um, who are you?"

I cleared my throat. "Hello, Mister Kaiba. I'm Yugi Mutou and I need your help."

He blinked. "Aren't you a little young?"

"I'm 15." I grunted. "Sorry about my height."

"Yes, of course. But, why do you need my help?" He asked as he sat at his desk.

"I want you to represent me... I want to sue my parents for the use of my body."

His eyes changed as everything became more comfortable after that.

Seto

I couldn't believe my eyes or ears. This 5 foot, 15 year old wants to sue his parents for the use of his body. What the hell?

"Can you explain this to me a little bit more?"

"My brother, Yami, has acute promyelocytic leukemia. My parents use my body for him for blood, bone marrow, and now my kidney is the next to go because his body is shutting down. His kidneys are the first to go. It's been like this since I was born."

Now I really couldn't believe my ears.

"And, you are tired of your parents using you, without your permission?" He nods.

"And I have money as well!" He poured the money on my desk. "It's 210 dollars, and 70 cents. I hope it's enough."

I had to smile and laugh. I may not be a well known attorney, since I just got out of Yale and moved back to my hometown in Kentucky, but this is something I don't remember being told about at Yale.

"Well, tell me all about Yami and you, Yugi."

I heard the young boy gulp as he began his story. I silently took notes and hope I payed well attention to him.

I moved here, from Japan, with my little brother, Mokuba. Our parents were both dead and our foster dad as well. We were both on our own. I was 16 when our foster father died (Mokuba was only 11). I put applications in for colleges around home and in the United States. Tokyo University and Yale University was both calling my name.

Before high school ended, I came up to my one and only boyfriend-yes, I'm gay-and told him I was going to Yale.

"That's great! The United States! I have family over there! You'll come back and see me, right?"

I really wanted him to come with me, he was great with Mokuba... But his GPA and IQ wasn't top notch for Yale...

"I'll try my best. It's getting expensive with the travel..." I admitted as we sat down on a bench outside of the school.

"You're rich. You're able to go anywhere. Your foster father-Gozaburo-gave you all his inheritance..."

I knew where he was going with this.

"Maybe... I'll come and see you and little Mokuba!" He smiled as I sighed, letting my shoulders fall.

"I'll be halfway around the world. And everything's getting expensive as it is..."

Maybe I should go to Tokyo U. I thought as I closed my eyes.

"Wherever you are, I'll be with you..." He whispered in my ear.

"I will..." I gulped, getting up from my seat, hiding my face from him. "I have to break up with you!" I blurted as he back away from me.

"Wha-?"

"I'm sorry, but there's no way that we will actually see each other again!" I cried, tears running down my face as he was flabbergasted.

I saw my limo and yelled out to him, "Don't forgive me, Wheeler!"

I opened my eyes, trying to eliminate the past and to focus on the present as Yugi's fingers were on top of his knees.

"I think you have a case." I say carefully. "You can sue your parents."

"Really?" I nod. "That's amazing!"

I hear a phone go off as Yugi blushed. "Sorry, let me answer this." He turns away as I rubbed my head.

Well, if this is going to happen, I'm going to have to find a guardian ad litem.

Yugi turned back to me. "That was my brother. I'm going to have to go. But, I'm probably going to be coming back ASAP."

"Yes. And if I was you, I wouldn't say much to your family. I'll talk to them and make sure they get the point across, correctly." I explain as Yugi nodded and got up.

"Thank you, again, Mister Kaiba."

"Just call me Seto."

"Well, Seto, thank you." Yugi smiled as he left my office.

I put my head on my desk as my secretary, Julie, came in.

"Well, it seems that everything went okay in here, right?"

I nod, slowly. "Depends. The kid's suing his parents for his body. He's tired of giving his older brother blood and bone marrow, and now a kidney... What is this, LOST?"

Julie smiles and shrugs. "You'll know what to do when the time comes. Here, your brother called you." She handed me a paper with a couple names on it.

Let's see... Mokuba... My dry cleaners... And Doctor Greenwood.

"Do you know what each one wants?"

"Your brother said that he needs to be picked up from Academic Team practice at 4:15. And it's almost 4 as it is." I looked down at my watch to confirm it. She's right. "Your dry cleaners said that your suit is pressed and cleaned. You can pick up whenever in the next few days. And Doctor Greenwood called about your X-rays on your back."

I look up at her, holding my breath in. "What did he say?"

"He said you would have to call him. He wouldn't leave me any details. Sorry."

"It's okay." I let out my breath. "Go on home. There's nothing else to do for today. Oh, just make sure that you talk to Mr. Chance and tell him that there is going to be a re-trial next week, on a Tuesday, at nine in the morning."

"Yes sir!"

"Also, I need to find a guardian ad litem. Well, I figured you can do that. You have a family and you know what to do with teenagers-"

"But, you have a younger brother, right?"

"Who's about to go off to college next year."

"Well, you have a family. You're not alone." She smiled as she closed the door.

For some odd reason, I get up and walk up to my bookcase. I have hundreds of books and I also have pictures of pictures now and back then. My heart still aches when I look at my graduation picture. Man, tensions back then were very tight. I stare at Joey one last time, hard, and put the picture back where I found it. I wonder what everyone is doing now in Japan...

A couple days later, Yugi visits my office, again. I have everything typed out for the trial, if it gets that far by the judge, as he sits in the same chair.

"Are you a little nervous?"

He nods as I sighed.

"I am, but I have been relaxed until today."

"We are just going to your parents and telling them about everything."

Now I can see the sweat on his forehead.

Is he that scared to tell his parents? Well, you usually don't go up to your parents and say, "Hey, I'm suing you. So, what's for dinner?"

Things are going to awkward in that household.

"I wished that Yami didn't have to suffer because of me."

I look up at Yugi as he looks at me.

"...Well, we will figure something out. Just, be strong." That's my advice to the kid. Man, am I such a great motivator. He gets up from his seat and looks at the books and pictures on the bookshelf.

"So, how many of these have you actually read?"

I get up next to him. I probably just made him feel much smaller next to my 6 foot complexion.

"I say about half of them."

"And who's this in your pictures?"

I look to see him pointing at my ex-boyfriend. I gulp without him knowing.

"That's...an old friend of mine. His name is Joey Wheeler. We were close, but I moved over to the United States with my younger brother."

Yugi smiles as he puts the picture down.

"Are you not going to ask who the others are?"

He looks up at me, still wearing that same smile.

"No."

"Why?"

"Because you had this look in your eyes when you said his name. I figured that you two had something back then. But, because you moved, your something was destroyed. Am I close?"

I lie. "Not even close. He's the one guy I hated but at least he was going somewhere with his pathetic life."

"But, if you hate him, how come you have a picture of him, with you, and up for everyone to see? Lying won't get you anywhere with your true feelings."

This is why I don't let my emotions get in the way of things.

I shake my head as I walk to the door.

"Do you want to read my palm while you're at it?"

Yugi smiles as he shakes his head. "Nah. It's just my brother had the same look, long ago..."

I blink as he walks outside the office.

"Julie... I'll be back as soon as I can. You know what to do."

She nods. "Yes sir."

"Oh, and do you know who the guardian ad litem is?" I asked as she looks through papers and such and pulls out a green folder with papers in it.

"Said person is in there, where he lives and who he lives with."

I grab it from her, saying, "Good thing it's a guy."

She glares at me as she eliminates it and smiles.

"Good luck with his parents."

"Don't you know it."

Michelle

It was really quiet within the house. Yugi went out with his friends, Yami's asleep-finally-and Atemu's at work. It's just me and my husband, cleaning the dishes and putting them away.

"So, do we need to call Yugi? It's been thirty minutes and he said that he would call us when he gets to-"

"Don't worry, honey." Darrell, my husband, assures as I nod, putting dishes away.

"Have you talked to Atemu today? Did he have his oil checked out?"

He nods. "We checked out yesterday. He was a little low, but he did tell me something before we finished."

"Oh. What was it?"

"He said that he's trying to find his own place, for once. I mean, he went to Community College for a couple years, but it would be nice if he went back to finish up two more years."

I nod. "Yes... But, it's hard for him to take the trash out."

Darrell laughs as he puts glasses up. "That's right... But he'll grow up. He has, but you know what I mean."

I really don't know what he means, but I pretend I know.

There was a knock on the door as I dry my hands.

"Coming!" I call out as I threw the paper-towel at my husband, watching his grin, as I opened the door.

I stop in my tracks as I saw a very tall, and sort of handsome guy, right behind Yugi. I blinked as I stood straighter.

"May I help you?"

"Are you Michelle Mutou?" I nod as Yugi looks up at said guy. "May we come in?"

"Yes. Did Yugi do something wrong? Did he get into trouble?" I asked as he shook his head. But I didn't know which question he was shaking his head to.

"Is your husband home as well?"

"Darrell... I need you to come into the living room."

He walks and notices the tall gentleman as well as he stands behind me.

"What is it-"

"Seto. Seto Kaiba. And you both may want to sit down for this."

I didn't know what to expect. Yugi's too quiet to cause a trouble... So what is it?

"My client, Yugi Mutou, is suing both of you for power over his body."

My mouth shot open as I covered it with my hands. I glanced over at him, as Darrell got up.

"Are you serious, Yugi?" Seto and Yugi both nod as I just looked at the both of them.

"Why are you suing us? We never did anything to you dear!"

Yugi looked up at us, for once. "I'm tired of you guys taking me out of school when Yami needs this, or when Yami needs that. I'm sick of it and none of you care."

I look at Darrell and he looks down at me. The silence itself was sickening.

Seto coughed, trying to break that silence, as he turned back to us. "If there is any problems, which there will be, I told Yugi that he has a guardian ad litem."

"Who's that?" I asked, softly.

"Someone Yugi can go to and stay with."

My heart dropped a bit. Someone else, other than me or my husband? Or a family member?

I heard a door open as I knew that Yami was awake.

"What's going on?" I heard him murmured as Darrell turn to Yugi, and back to Yami. I noticed that he was dragging him back to his room.

"I can't believe this is happening... My own son-"

"Your own son?" Yugi questioned me as I felt ganged up on. "I was conceived from a shot and my dad's seed!"

I gulped as Seto turned to Yugi, trying to calm him down.

"Yugi, you're going to stay here, whether you like it or not."

I commanded as he got up and went to the front door. "No. If I need to go somewhere,I will. If I need someone to talk to, I will!"

Darrell came back, without Yami, as he looked back at me and back to Yugi and Seto.

"Listen to your mother, Yugi."

"Dad... I just don't want to be here. I don't want to help Yami no more! I..."

My heart was beating a mile a minute. "I want him to die!"

I slapped him on the cheek, hard, as I pull my hand away and put my head down, falling to the floor on my knees. Darrell was behind me.

"Yugi..." I heard Seto murmur to him as he held his cheek.

"I-I don't know what c-came over me..." I cried out as Darrell held me tight.

Seto looked down at me. "I can take him to the guardian ad litem tonight-"

"No! He's not going anywhere!"

We all turn and see Yami there, bright red in the face.

"Yami, you need to go back to bed! You need to get your rest!" I say, wiping my tears off my face.

"But... Yugi..."

He fell quiet as Yugi let go of his cheek. "Yami..."

"I'm going to represent us in our case." I told Seto as he blinked. Yugi, Yami, and even Darrell blinked. "I was an attorney long ago, and I'm representing ourselves in this case."

Seto crossed his arms as Yugi looked at me.

"Yugi, stay here for tonight."

He looked up at him. "What? Why?"

I saw him whispering in his ear, something I want to know, badly.

"...and if your mother's playing lawyer here-"

"I heard that."

He sat up straight and sighed. "Behave, and you can stay with your GAL tomorrow. But, for now, don't stir up any trouble."

Yugi nodded and walked to his room. I wanted to follow him, but Yami did that for me.

"Until tomorrow, my opponents." He silently left the room, closed the door, and I sat on the couch, looking at my husband.

"I can't believe what is going on! My son is suing us... And I'm going to be an attorney... What the hell is going on?" I asked him as he held me, rocking me back and forth like a child.

"Nothing. Just let everything take it's course."

I nodded and just tried to relax.

What really scared me more than anything was that when Yami is upset, he turns red in the face, and within seconds he is an emotional train and goes into a shock that sends him to the hospital, usually.

But today, when he was red in the face, he didn't cry, and he didn't go into a shock. Was he controlling it or maybe...

Well, that's the first chapter... Sorry it was a little long.

Anyways, don't you dare forget to review! ;)
