Summary: Just a small reflective piece.
Liam just sat there, listening to the rain's light pitter
patter on the side walk. He sat thinking about Lili, about Da'an,
about all that has happened to him in the past year, Da'an's and
Augur's betrayal, Renee, Lili's death....
Liam sighed. This has not been a good year.
He wished it would all just go away, he wished that he wasn't
living the life he was living now, he wish.... he wished that
everything could be normal.
*Like that will ever happen* Liam thought scornfully, *I'm the
Leader of the Resistance, a Companion Protector, and I'm only a
kid*
Liam leaned back into his comfy chair. *I wish Lili was here* A
single tear ran down his check. Liam, after all this time he
still refuse to believe that Lili was dead. Lili was like a
mother to him, the one he could always trust, the one he could
always turn to. Her dying was just not fair! Liam's hand curled
into a fist and he brought it straight down onto the arm of the
chair.
Liam sighed once more as he thought about Da'an and Augar. Da'an
his mentor, his friend, his guiding light in this world of
confusion and sadness betrayed him. Liam missed the closeness he
once felt with Da'an, he missed their talks.
The there was Augar. Liam smiled but it quickly disappeared. He
knew he was just protecting him, but that protection had cost too
many other lives. One could never stay mad at Augur for too long,
but Liam wasn't sure he could fully forgive him.
Renee. Liam's eyes narrowed at that one. Liam couldn't figure her
out. Liam is positive that her loyalties lie with humanity, but
also that she wouldn't mind making a buck off it also. Liam
closed his eyes, *There is definitely something that she is
hiding* And Liam was sure that once he figured it out he would be
able to understand her.
The rain was slowly receding. Liam got up from his chair and
wandered over to the window. Outside, everything was gray. *Just
like everything is gray inside* Liam thought bitterly.
Liam's life was full of betrayals, mistrust, and fear. He felt as
if he had nobody in the world. 2 of his parents are dead, the
other has tried to kill him, repeatedly. Sandoval also has a
hidden agenda, he was sure of it. Liam was also sure Sandoval
that he was not under the influence of his CVI any more. *That
just makes him even more unpredictable* Lili's dead, Augur and Da'an
have betrayed him, Zo'or wants him dead about as much as Doors
does. Renee, he wasn't sure he could trust her, at least not yet.
Of the selected few who actually knows about Liam, about half
didn't trust him. Most of the others has one sort of an agenda or
another. Liam briefly smiled, *I guess good help IS hard to find*
Liam strolled over to his bedroom. He had to get some rest, Da'an
is surely going to expect him all rested and awake in a few hours.
Liam hesitated for a moment. Lately he had been getting dreams,
bad ones where he finds himself alone and in darkness. In that
nightmare he could always feel as if everybody had shunned him,
as if no one accepts who he really was. In another he felt as if
he was being hunted, but dark shadowy creatures of the night.
Liam got into bed and closed his eyes, awaiting the demons to
once more remerge.
