Black Rose
(3rd Person POV)
A long time ago, there was a girl named Bella of royal blood who played the piano. She was taught by a young man she knew only as her tutor, but to the world, he was a musical prodigy Edward Masen. Eventually, the two souls fell in love. He would leave a red rose after lessons for her to find when she returned to practice. One day, she explained to him that her favorite colored rose was black.
"Black?"
"Yes, because even after a long time, you can't tell they are dead until they shatter."
Every day since, he left a black rose for her to find. After many months, there love grew so strong, not even the devil could break it. But she was already promised to a jealous king by the name Jacob Black. Who looked down at the beautiful music the two lovers made. One day the tutor was running late to their lesson. Ehen he was arrested by the King's guards, forced to drop his beloved's rose and while she played alone… He was put to death. At first she thought it was a dream, a nightmare. Until she was given a letter from his last moments. Proclaiming his love that will live beyond death. And she fell into sorrow… Broken
Many years passed. She was married to King Black and taken to his castle. Her heart broke, her true love dead, she had only one love left… Her music, her piano, their song. She was so sad; every day she would play their song, once so pretty, it seemed to be filled with sadness now. The king could not understand it. He was dead and yet she played for him every day like he was still there. Everywhere he turned, he heard her song. Soon it was even haunting him in his own dreams. She refused to stop playing, her frail body became thin, her skin lost all color.
Her joints ached. But she did not mind. She refused food, care, and riches. She only stopped to sleep dream of her love' and gain energy to play stronger. Soon the whole Kingdom could hear her wordless tale. The king couldn't take it anymore, and he confronted her. "Why do you play, why do you play!" he roared. "Your love is dead, you are my Queen now, yet you play for him with every breath you take!" her arms rested calmly on the piano as he ranted. "Why do you play?" he asked one final time his voice sounding almost defeated. She finally answered, "I play because even if we die, our love lives forever." she looked down at the ivory keys of the piano. "we are like roses. We eventually shatter, but the memories of what we have given last forever" After a long silence of thought, he left without a word. The next day she woke with a strange feeling. She went to her piano and found a silver rose.
One that would last forever… Fin
