It was the sixth time that day that one of the glee kids and a teacher came to his locker, cleared their throat and demanded his attention. Puck rolled his eyes but turned around to look at them anyway.
It was Artie this time. Before him there were Mercedes, Brittany, Tina, even Mr. Schue and Rachel.
"What, you're gonna warn me not to hurt Hummel's heart?"
"Uh... Well... Yeah," stuttered Artie. "And if you hurt him, I swear--,"
"You'll make my life a living hell?" asked Puck skeptically.
"I was gonna say 'hit you relentlessly with my wheelchair' but I guess you pretty much get the idea."
Puck ran his hand through the strip of hair on his head. This was also the sixth time he heard that warning and that speech. And seriously, that was getting old pretty quickly.
"Look, you guys might see me shoving my tongue down Hummel's throat yesterday. But trust me, that kid only has eyes for Finn!"
Artie frowned in confusion when he noticed anger in the jock's eyes.
"Hell, I could have my hands down in Santana's panties and he wouldn't even bat an eye. I can't hurt him even if I want to," added Puck with a slam of his locker door. "If you and your little Legion of Kurt's Defenders are so worried about him being all heart broken, why don't you all go to Finn instead?"
Puck left Artie to watch his retreating back. The mohawked boy growled and threw threats at everyone on the hallway to get out of his way.
"Huh…" mumbled Artie in contemplative way.
"Hey, buddy."
The glasses-wearing teen looked up to find Finn standing there, grinning next to him. He couldn't help but think of how the tall teen always looked like he was high.
"Is that Puck leaving just now?"
"Yup," Artie nodded his head. "Are you going to give him the whole 'don't hurt Kurt' routine too?"
"Yeah. He's my bro and I know how he can be. Just don't want to have Kurt all heartbroken."
Artie pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose. His gaze still fixed on Puck's back.
"I don't think we have to worry too much that Puck would hurt Kurt." He cringed, as the words sounded odd, even coming out of his mouth. "I have to talk to Kurt though." He started to navigate his wheelchair away from Finn.
"Why?" Finn asked quizzically, still standing on his spot to watch Artie rolled away.
"To warn him not to hurt Puck's heart."
