I didn't know what to say. I was at a loss for words. The man I loved and wanted to be with for the rest of my existence was kneeling in front of me with the simplest ring. It was a silver band with a diamond. And it was beautiful. He was staring at me with his warm brown eyes that I love so much. I couldn't tear my eyes away from the ring that was in that box. I was afraid that if I looked away from it, it would disappear. That if I looked away from any of it, it would all just vanish. Vanish into thin air.
I finally tore my eyes away from the ring to look into his eyes. And as I looked into them, I knew then what I should say. "Yes" was all that came out. I felt him slip the ring on my left hand. As he put it on my hand, he came up and captured my lips with his. I wrapped my arms around his neck and I deepened the kiss. He eventually picked me up and carried me up the stairs. When he got to my room he laid me on the bed and started undressing me. And we made love all night long.
The next morning I woke up to an empty bed. I looked around the room. I got up and put his button up shirt on. As I went down the stairs, I could smell the bacon and coffee. I got to the bottom of the stairs and headed towards the kitchen. I saw Aaron cooking in just his boxers. He turned around when he heard me. "I was going to bring you breakfast in bed" he said as I started walking towards him. "Oh, well if I knew that then I would have stayed in bed" I said smiling at him. He bent down and kissed me. He turned back to the bacon. "Did you sleep well?" he asked me. "I did" "Good" he smiled at me. He put the bacon on a plate and set it on the bar. "I know it's your favorite, so I made extra" he said. I smiled at him as I took a piece from the plate. I sat down on one of the bar stools and he placed a cup of coffee in front of me. "Thanks" I said as I took a sip. He sat down next to me and started eating the bacon. "I invited the team over for lunch, if that's ok with you" he said. "The sooner we tell them, the better" I smiled at him. "I agree. I don't want to keep this a secret" he said as he grabbed my hand. "I don't either" I turned to him and kissed him.
It was around twelve when the team got there. Derek and PG got there first. A little while after they got there, JJ, Dave, and Reid arrived. The team hadn't seen me yet because I didn't want to give it away. But once the whole team was there, I went down stairs and when I got to the bottom everyone knew what was going on. JJ was the first to say something. "Oh my gosh Em" she ran towards me and engulfed me in the biggest hug I have ever had. "I'm so happy for you two" Derek said.
The team stayed over for about two hours talking about the engagement and the future wedding. At about two thirty the team started to leave and eventually it was just Aaron and me. We were sitting on the couch. Aaron had his arms around me and we were watching The Avengers. "Aaron" I said looking up at him. He looked down at me. "I love you" I said. "I love you too" He leaned down and kissed me.
