Alright... I did not expect people to like "The Loophole", four reviews that aren't flames and demands for a sequel... honestly, flames were all things that I expected since I know how some see Bamon as a threat to Delena (which it is in the books that I remember... not so sure about the show). That being said ... written? ... here is the sequel called "The Namesake". Enjoy!
The Namesake
Coping wasn't an easy thing to do.
Elena Gilbert knew this very well.
It's been a couple of days since she woke up, met her namesake and found out that Damon and Bonnie were, in fact, married to each other. She didn't mind that one bit, as she had accepted the fact that he would move on after her... coma. Giggling to herself, the brunette watched the small girl play in the frontyard. Damon and Bonnie had come home the moment their daughter had told Elena her name and tears began falling from the two best friends as they hugged and sobbed, the spooked child being held by her father and wondering why 'her mother looked so sad hugging that woman'.
It was decided that, for her sake, it would be for the best if she moved in with them and Elena agreed to it. Now with a baby blue room to call her own, not that far away from little Elena's pale green one (her room was just the epitome of adorable, in the Gilbert's opinion) and the couple's deep red bedroom. She only saw some flashes of it when she would bid them good night before putting the little girl to sleep (it has become a habit for her to put the little her to bed every night and Damon and Bonnie didn't mind, saying that if she wanted to do such stuff, if it made her feel better about herself, she could).
Smiling, the older Elena looked up as her younger 'self' shouted in glee, spotting a butterfly with white and dark blue wings, a gorgeous creature no doubt. Getting up from the stairs that she had been sitting on, she brushed off her pants and ran towards her, wanting to help her catch it with a net that she had found in Bonnie's car.
"Aunt Elena! It's flying away!"
Ruffling her hair, the older one simply reached up with the net and safely captured the being, lowering it down so that she could see.
"It's beautiful!" the smile on the little girl's face was all the prize that she needed to make her smile back, happy for once with her life and the course it was taking.
"That it is." a deep baritone sounded and Elena looked up, laughing slightly when little Elena shouted "Daddy!" and ran towards Damon, who leaned down to catch her and began swinging her around, eliciting gleeful cries of happiness.
"They are cute, aren't they?" Bonnie was smiling beside her. Elena nodded, hoping that their smiles would never go away. "Guys! Leave some fun for us!" she shouted, running towards her husband and daughter as Elena freed the butterfly and watched it fly away for a moment before shouts of her name caused her to turn around and run towards the family of three... no, her family now.
She would make sure that they would never go away.
The end
Hope you liked it! That last bit (sentence) could be taken in various ways so I will leave that up to your imagination. For some odd reasons, I hate Elena yet I can't write her in a bad light. Guess the way she was in S1 is stuck in my head... oh well, family fun is always a great thing to write and she loves being "Aunt Elena" so there is that.
Thank you for reading!
