Lily sighed as she flopped onto her bed. Why couldn't James Potter leave her alone? She hadn't done anything to him. Except shouting at him. She also punched him a few times as well. And broke his nose.

But that was only because he annoyed her, right? Lily tried to remember a time where he ACTUALLY annoyed her. The last time she could remember was...the second time she punched him.

So why was she always agitated by him? As Lily thought about it, she realised...

There was no reason. This shocked her. Was she blinded by her anger towards him to actually stop and ask, 'why am I doing this?' There was no reason.

Lily decided she was going to do something about that. She gathered her coat and shoes, pulling them on hurriedly as she half ran-half hopped out of the Dorms.

On the scarlet sofa situated before the fire, the four boys known as the Marauders. Remus Lupin was sitting down on the floor reading a book, leaning up against Sirius Black's legs. Sirius Black was sitting lazily on the sofa, allowing his legs to be used as a cushion. Peter Pettigrew was finishing a soon-due essay, hastily scribbling sentences which had no meaning whatsoever.

Lastly, James Potter was lounging across the remaining part of the sofa, in only a way James Potter could do. It's sort of cute, Lily allowed herself to think.

Gathering up all her Gryffindor Courage, Lily walked determinedly to James Potter.

James' eyes widened in disbelief as he saw Lily Evans walk towards him. Was she going to hurt him, or accept his marriage proposal?

"Potter, can I talk to you...outside?" She asked. James nodded, still speechless. Okay, so no pain yet. That's a good thing, right? He thought.

Lily softly closed the Common Room portrait hole, looking around her, as if she was afraid of getting caught doing something against the rules. "Potter, what do you think of me?" She asked softly, her vibrant green eyes shining.

James ruffled a hand through his already messy hair, trying to put his thoughts into words. How to describe Lily Evans? "Lily, you are...um...well, brilliant really. And you're pretty too. I also like the way you talk. And stuff like that. Yeah. Ooh, I also like your personality." He told her.

Lily hadn't expected a speech, but she didn't expect his kind and sincere words either. Lily giggled slightly. "You think that?"

"Yeah, I do."

Lily began to walk away, but stopped just before her fingers touched the portrait hole. Lily turned slightly, watching James from the corner if her eye.

Before he knew it, a blur of red came crashing towards him, and James caught Lily in her arms. He was...confused. The girl he spent the last seven years in love with (who also happened to hate his guts), jumped into his arms.

He took a big chance. "Lily, will you go to Hogsmeade with me?" He asked her hopefully.

Lily pulled back slightly to look at him. He looked honest enough. "You know what, James? I think I'll take up your offer this time."

All went silent as James and Lily waltzed into the Common Room, hand in hand.

Lily Evans? Holding hands with James Potter? Willingly?

There was something wrong, they all thought. It couldn't be possible. There's just no logical way.

James stood in front of the crackling orange flames. He cleared his throat. "I have finally gotten Lily Evans to date me!" James exclaimed.

The silence continued. Then, Sirius Black jumped up and clapped. Remus moaned as he fell to the ground. "Thanks, Padfoot."

Remus then also got up, dusted himself off, before joining Sirius in his clapping.

Soon, the whole Gryffindor Common Room were all celebrating.

Lily hid her blush behind her hair. James pulled Lily into a kiss. Their first kiss. The first of many.
