Troubles and Thinking

Chapter one: THE LETTER

When the letter arrived, Hazel thought nothing of it.

That was until it reappeared several days later as a dinner-conversation.

"Hazel, honey", Sally addressed her. "We need to talk about school."

To say that Hazel was confused would be an understatement; she'd never gotten into trouble of any kind – at least not as far as she knew. Maybe there where once again gruesome rumors about her.

"I'm sorry" She said. She wasn't sure what she was apologizing for but that was still better than being ignorant and for that getting kicked out of the Jackson-Blofis household.

Paul looked at her confused. "What are you apologizing for?" At the same time as Percy said "Relax, Hazel."

Frank put his hand on her shoulder. Paul continued "Sally was just talking about your annual parent/teacher conference next week. Nothing to worry about. Everybody has them-"

"Some only have a few more than normal." Sally mumbled glancing at her eldest.

"-And since I believe you're giving your teachers an easier time than Percy does, everything is gonna be fine."

Percy glared at his parents "Hey! It's never my fault." The rest of the table rolled their eyes.

"The problem is" said Frank having grabbed the letter off the couch table "That your date is exactly when Sally & Paul are in Washington. Huh, we're just gonna blow it off?" He shot both adults a questioning look.

"Not exactly" Paul grinned. "We have the big advantage that I'm friends with the principle at Goode and I kinda talked him into letting Perce substitute for us… That is if you don't mind, dear?" he smiled at Hazel. Percy grinned, too. "I bet she's gonna be psyched to see me in her office without me blowing something up beforehand!"

Now all eyes were on the dark-skinned girl sitting next to Frank. A small frown stole its way onto her delicate features. "Oh, I don't mind at all."

And with that the Jackson-Blofis-Zhang-Levesque-dinner continued as if nothing had happened. Everybody talked and joked animatedly.

Soooooo, whaddaya think? There are just too many times when I have these Prophecy-7-As-Family-Plots in my head so now you'll have to put up with another one of these... And this time even a multi-chaptered one (I just so know I'm not going to update regulary... :/)
