Draco ran down the hall. He was searching for her. Images of their fight swirled around his mind, making it hard to focus. Tears swam in his eyes, waiting to break the surface. And they did. "After all we've been through?" His mind danced with images of Aimee, his girlfriend, slapping him. His mind involuntarily put it on loop. Guilt was seeping through him, just like his father said it would. He hadn't even kissed the girl, it had been a rumor, however; the look on Aimee's face when she had confronted him killed Draco. He could almost see her heart breaking, and remembering it as if it were happening now, made him whimper aloud. People turned to stare. The crazy Malfoy was on another crazy rampage. But he wasn't. That's just what they thought.
Draco rounded the corner, tripped in the process, and found Aimee right where he knew he would. Even from the back he knew she was crying, and it was because of him. It was because of what he hadn't done, oddly enough, but it still made a fresh wave of tears spring from his eyes. "What do you want Draco?" The air around her was crisp, and the enchanted alcove was pouring down rain. "Malfoy?" A crack of thunder. His last name. He had broken her heart. She was angry. "Aimee! I didn't kiss her I swear!" She turned slightly. Her eyes rested on his pajamas. He hadn't changed since their fight last night. He had skipped all of his classes. Next her eyes went to his messy hair; he tended to tug on it when he got angry or anxious. Finally, her eyes rested on his face. The face of the boy she had loved for five years, except today it was red and puffy. He had been crying as much as she had. "Draco I-" Draco couldn't stand it any longer. He ran down the steps to her and kissed her. For a moment she stood there and he lost all hope. He started to pull back, but her arms lifted and wrapped themselves around his neck, pulling him back. When she released him she smiled weakly. "Draco I'm so sorry I didn't believe you! I love you!" He smiled a goofy lopsided grin. "I love you to A." They stood there in the rain for a long time. They stood and gazed into each other's eyes, in a way that you had to love somebody to do.
