It was a normal Christmas day until I opened my last present. I was shocked to find a ball point pen in the long rectangular box. I looked at my mother quizzically "you are joking right?" Percy asked his mother. "Nope not one bit there is more to the object than you think. Come on now uncap it very carefully!" sally replied to her son. "Ok" Percy shifted nervously. As he uncapped the pen he heard it spring to life, he couldn't believe his eyes suddenly instead of a ballpoint pen in his hand there was a three foot long sword made out of some kind of metal he had never seen before. Percy suddenly dropped the sword as if it was on fire. "Careful that is a gift from your father" sally said as she giggled. "What? What do you mean that is from my father I don't even know him and why would he send his 13 year old son a sword?" Percy asked slightly shaking. Just as he sat on the couch the door to his apartment swung open. Thinking it was his stupid jerk of a step-father he announced "I'm going to my room". "Wait " he heard a voice boom. He noticed that he had never heard this voice before. As he turned to the strange man he realized that they had similar features for instance their sea-green eyes and jet black hair. Then it dawned on him. This was the man who ran out on his mother and his infant son. Percy suddenly felt quite ill and lowered himself onto the couch. As he sat his father explained himself and why he suddenly wanted to be back in his son's life. Once Percy decided that this was enough for him to hear today he excused himself to go get ready for bed. He lie awake in bed that night trying to digest what his father had said to him. He was furious from hearing how his father claimed to be the Greek sea god Poseidon and that he had been away for immortal business. Why did his father think that he was so gullible? He walked into the living room, his mother had long since fell asleep in her room and his step-father was nowhere to be found and his father had left. Percy saw the pen laying on the coffee table and picked it up once he clicked the button on the pen and it once again sprung to life he realized it all was real.
