Soul was known as Maka's "Guardian Angel" to other people, mainly their friends. But nobody knew how true that was...
...
"So you're my guardian angel now?" Maka asked stunned. He nodded. "Because you saved me?"
Another nod.
"But you were a fallen angel, you wanted to kill me to become human, I died, I felt my soul being pulled to the other side."
He just smiled at her as a black feather fell on her lap.
"This is yours?"
Soul nodded again, "I saved you Maka, I am your guardian angel."
"But you wanted to become human, I was meant to be a sacrifice. Nygus even told me, and you! I saw it when I touched your scars-" she realised the scars of where his wings once were, if he really was her guardian angel, if this was the truth, there would be no scars there. "Turn around."
Soul just stifled in a laugh and turned around to show his bare back. Expecting to see scars, Maka leaned closer, but none was to be seen.
She gasped. "No...No scars... Why can't I see the scars?"
"I got my wings back, you cant see them, but they're back." Soul turned back around.
"Maka! Im home!" Spirit yelled from downstairs.
"Can only I see you?"
Soul shook his head. "Then go! I don't want Papa to see you shirtless in my room! He'll freak!" she raised her voice. "Can you climb out the window?"
The ash blonde girl ran to the window ad lifted it up quickly. Soul chuckled as he walked up to her and placed a hand on her shoulder. "I can fly," he whispered as he jumped out the window. Just as he climbed onto the window sill, she turned around to where he once stood, and did not see him fly.
Spirit called once again.
"Yeah!?"
"I've got take-out!" he called from the kitchen.
"Coming!"
Once she came downstairs her father asked, "Who were you talking to?"
Maka stiffened up for a split second, but relaxed. "Oh, nobody, you're hearing things old man."
They both laughed as they unpacked the boxes. Not knowing that Maka's Guardian Angel was on a tree branch watching them through the window with a smirk.
"Be careful," he flew off into the night. "Angel."
