They were practicing archery in PE, she smirked a grin that he would be proud of as she tried not to seem arrogant. She had them beat and they didn't even know it.
The quiver and bow, though not her own, were at home with her. She grinned when it was her turn.
"Now Higurashi," the teacher warned softly, "don't feel too bad if you can't get it the first time."
"Oh I won't."
Reaching back she drew three arrows and put them to the bow. Her peers began whispering and a few laughed.
She ignored them and drew the twine back. She let go, hitting a bull's-eye with all three. Wanting to show off, she rarely was able to, she spied the tree he was perched in about a few meters away and drew another arrow. She let it fly and in hit a knot in the trunk. She then turned her attention to the football field, a half mile away, and she spotted a practice dummy and pivoted aiming another arrow and shooting.
She turned on her heel and throwing a smirk to her stunned teacher, marched back to her seat.
Maybe going to the feudal ages of Japan was bad for her grades but man it sure did come in handy sometimes.
