First Meetings:

"Hey Barbie." Came a deep voice from the alleyway. The red-head tensed at the voice and turned around slowly.

"Jay." She responded cooly. They locked eyes and simply stared for what seemed like ages.

"I'm going to kill him." The man growled suddenly as he punched the wall.

"Which one?" Barbra sighed, expecting this.

"Both of them!" Jason growled. "The joker for doing this to you and Bruce for not stopping him after ..."

"I know you don't like it, but we have a code." The woman sighed. "If we break it, we are no better than them."

"So what does that make me?" He glared. Barbra simply stared back until he sighed and slumped against the wall. "You all may not like it, but you can't deny my results."

"I haven't said anything about your methods or results." Barbra said evenly.

"Stop that." He demanded suddenly. "Stop treating me like I'm 13 again."

"I'm not treating you like you're 13." Barbra finally shouted. "I don't even know how to treat you. You suddenly are alive and grown, taking down half the crime of Gotham, and starting a war with Bruce!"

"Look Barbie," he said in an even voice as he approached her. "I didn't ask for any of this. And I'm pretty sure you didn't either." He placed his hands on her wheel chair. "I'm taking control of my situation."

"So am I." She whispered. Then she did the impossible and shocked him. She placed her hands on his and slowly. It was then she realized how tall he really was. Her face was only to his chest. He certainly wasn't a boy anymore. "I can stand and walk a little, but I still can't for long. I'm working and improving though."

"I'm glad." His voice rumbled. He backed away just enough so he could see her. "When I hear what happened I wished it was anyone but you."

"Jay..." Barbra murmured, averting his eyes. She sat back down in her chair and was surprised he kneeled down to be at eye level. "What are you doing here?"

"I'm not sure." He laughed suddenly. "I wanted to check up on you, but now..." He stopped and gave her a piercing stare. He slowly leaned forward, his lips a hair length away from hers. "Barbra."

"Jason." Babs replied and his lips slowly touched hers; gentle and exploratory. She was surprised someone as rough as him could be this sweet. The kiss ended all too soon and he backed away slightly.

"I'll be back to check on you." He slowly rose from the floor. "If you want."

"I think I'd like that." Barbra nodded. He quickly kissed her a second time before heading to the window.

"Tomorrow, same time?" He asked casually, but she could pick up to small hope in his voice.

"Yes." She nodded. He smirked and left, leaving her to wonder where this week was headed.
