At first it just sounded like a rat, the screaming. Then the pounding just sounded like more rain. Then, very clearly, you could hear, "OH MY GOD, KYOYA! OPEN THE DAMN DOOR!" It was the middle of the night and it was raining profusely at the Otori's residence. Why in the world would someone be banging down the front door at such an ungodly hour when it was pouring outside? Somehow, the voice was recognizable—though he couldn't quite place who it was—but he knew no one was going to "open the damn door" if he didn't. So, like the awesome friend he was, he went to answer the door.

"KYOYA, I KNOW YOU CAN HEAR ME!"

"I'M COMING, DAMNIT!"

He opened the door to find a completely drenched Haruhi. He would've normally snapped her neck for waking him up in the middle of the night, but she looked extremely upset.

"Is it true, Kyoya? Did he leave?" She looked like she was about to explode from anger, but her face also bore evidence that she had been crying. This was a bad time to tell her. He was already having a hard enough time dealing with him leaving, and now he had to deal with telling the girl he impregnated—the reason he had left in the first place—that he had left.

"…Why don't you step inside?" He stepped aside, letting her inside.

She walked in, sitting on the couch. She sat next to him. "There's no way that I'm going to be able to hide this from everyone at the school. I'm fucking pregnant, Kyoya. And he expects me to live on when he goes to France?! I wish someone could tell me that I didn't lose my virginity to an idiot!" Kyoya had a hard time not snorting at the last part. Of course Tamaki was an idiot.

"He didn't have a choice, Haruhi," Kyoya tried to say calmly. "His grandmother forced him."

"I don't believe that bullshit for one second," she bit back. "He could've resisted."

"You obviously don't know Tamaki's grandmother very well."

"Just tell me—it was me, right? Because he was in love with me and had sex with me and made me pregnant, that's why he had to leave?"

"I believe so."

"God damnit…" she muttered.

"…He'll be coming back, in the summer, I think."

She huffed. "You're just trying to make me feel better." She looked him straight in the eye. "I cannot tell you how pissed off I am. I thought he was responsible, and that he'd make a good father when the time came. But I guess I was wrong. Now I have to have that dumbass' baby." She looked at the floor, folding her arms over her stomach.

"You got it all wrong, Haruhi. He's crazy about you, and anyone would be crazy not to see that. It's just…you're overreacting. He's probably only going to be in France till the end of the semester, then come back after some things have settled down."

"I highly doubt that. I'll still be pregnant by the end of the semester, therefore things won't have settled down."

"Haruhi. You are the smartest girl I've ever come to know. You wouldn't do something as stupid as losing your virginity and regret it. But, I'm sorry; you are being such an idiot right now." She turned to look at him, shocked he would say such a thing. "You're letting your emotions get a hold of you, and you never do that. I understand that you're scared that he's never going to come back for you, but that's not going to happen. You're thinking of worst case scenarios and you're not thinking logically or rationally. Just calm down for a second."

After a few seconds of silence, she collapsed into his lap. He put his arm around her to comfort her and she started to cry.

"He's—going—to—come—back—right?" she said between gasps of air.

"He's going to come back," he said.
