Motherhood

A/N: Just a short little one-shot I thought of while watching an episode of Grey's Anatomy. Reviews are welcome! Also, my first G.A. fic, so be nice! I know it's really short but it's meant to be short, and I am on huge writers block right now and this is hopefully, supposed to warm-up my imagination.

Disclaimer: I don't own any of the characters from the show, except for McCutie.

If you think about it, motherhood really does change everything. You can't do all the things you took for granted before. For example: making out in elevators when you're alone. It's kind of hard to do that when you have a gurgling human being wedged in between you.

Not only do you stop doing most of your dirty habits, you get much more attention than a normal person would ever want. All you hear it "How is he?" and "Are you doing alright?" and sometimes, hearing it for the 20th time in one day makes a person just a little crazy.

"So… you seen McCutie yet?" Izzie asked Cristina. They were in the locker room, and it was obvious that everyone was talking about it.

"McCutie? Seriously?" Cristina asked incredulously.

"Seriously."

The buzz about Meredith's baby had spread faster than the speed of light around the hospital. Izzie got the call around 3:30 that Meredith was in labor, and her and George rushed to see her. Cristina was on-call, but somehow hadn't been able to make it up there yet.

"I hear he looks exactly like McDreamy. So… since he is only a baby, and his father is the well-known McDreamy, he should have a nickname like that too. 'McCutie' sounds appropriate." Izzie declared. Both Cristina and George just stared at her blankly. "What…?"

MEREDITH'S POV

"Isn't he perfect?" I said, gazing down upon my one hour old son. Derek stroked his cheek, and whispered "yes" in my ear. It got me thinking. Thinking about my life, and how things could have not ended up this way. Derek could have stayed with Addison after she cheated the second time, and I could have chosen not to go back to his place with him after an hour at Joe's. We could have decided to stay friends, or he could have remembered to wear a condom.

Besides all the "what if's," I thought about how much Luke looked like his father, and how motherhood was going to be tough with little girls calling him "McCutie" on the playground.

Yes, i know its short, but its only a one-shot to get me in the writing mood. tell me what you think!!
